Why track it as new conferences. It won't be reported that way next year when they talk about bowl records. It will be based on current members and as things sit right now the big 12 will be bashed for its poor showing so far.

The "old B12" has had a great bowl run the last 2 seasons. Do you think that did anything to improve our reputation?

I don't.
Until we beat the best, it don't matter. TCU has to win in the Playoff. KState needed to beat Bama. Until you knock off the big guys - Michigan, OSU, Bama, UGA, Clemson and whoever else is dominating, nothing will help.

Yes it did. Every time they put the graphic up early in the bowl season about how well the conferences have done they talked about how well the big 12 has done. It has helped get rid of the stereotype of the big 12 doesn't play defense or can't beat a team with a real defense or an SEC team.

I haven't noticed any shift in the national perception of the B12 in the last couple of years with the B12 bowl success.

I would say if anything our national perception as a conference has gone down in the last 2 years with the loss of our 2 blue bloods.

TCU losing the title game and NOT dropping in the rankings?

Us being ranked highly preseason?

Those are all good. Need to keep building a Conference portfolio that makes it impossible for B12 to not go away. Super Conferences ae coming. Will it be 2 30 team or 3 20 team? B12 needs to be the third.

The New B1G's 2 losses yesterday puts PAC at the top for now

You telling me a B12 team knocking off UGA wouldn't help the B12? It will be Jets vs Colts.

What a weird year that the 2 conferences that usually are worst are doing better than everyone else.

But, does the lower teams winning matter? Let's see what the narrative that plays out. We are already hearing TCU didn't win that game, Michigan lost it with bad play calls and looking forward to the Championship Game. So, Michigan is still really better.

Of course TCU won the game! Sore losers whining & making excuses about the outcome won't change that. TCU certainly has the potential to beat Georgia but no one expects it.

That is why they play the games, besides a boat load of money, otherwise have the Committee deem a Champ in August based on roster and recruiting rankings.

Exactly.

And that's why the committee was always a terrible idea. Every year they prove it with some idiotic rankings & absurd excuses for their boneheaded decisions. At least they sometimes do get things right, including picking the four teams in the last ranking. They got that one right this year.

I am very wary of "those that know" types that won't engage in discussions. Doubly so about giving them any real power!

Well...most analysts seemed pretty convinced that Gonzaga was going to beat us....then the game happened.

Great example. I think we were the underdog in the Sugar Bowl & surprised the pundits & Ole Miss!

But, they say Corral got hurt. They don't mention he was 2 for 6 with an interception.

I don't care what the "experts" say because too often it's garbage. All too often the pundits are proven wrong by reality.

Corral was also sacked 3 times in about 10 minutes playing time.

Yes, he was. That D won that game.

And this year we really missed some of those studs on defense, especially Pitre & Bernard.
