TAMU QB Eli Stowers, a 4-star recruit, is transferring to . . . . New Mexico State!

How can they do it while we're struggling?

Other examples of those going to low-tier programs?

He was a 2021 recruit, and yes Baylor made him an offer. Schools who made him an offer were:

  • Arizona State
  • Arkansas
  • Auburn
  • Baylor
  • Clemson
  • Colorado
  • Duke
  • Florida State
  • Georgia
  • LSU
  • Mississippi State
  • Missouri
  • Nebraska
  • Oregon
  • South Carolina
  • TCU
  • Tennessee
  • Texas A&M
  • Tulsa

We couldn't do it because we gave Novosad a celibacy ring that we wouldn't have wandering eyes for other QBs...so no contingency plan.

I honestly don't understand your post. I think you mean to say that we should be upset that Stowers didn't transfer to Baylor.

He was moved out of the QB position at A&M. He was a terrible QB. Even after the complete QB circus at A&M the past 2 years he wasn't even in the discussion.

If this really did happen -- and God, I hope it didn't -- that's about the most naive decision the head of a college football program could ever make.

We're closer than many want to believe.

Total turmoil is obviously hyperbole. But I don't know how anyone can look at our program currently and feel really good about our immediate future.

We're basing way too much on hope right now. On both sides of the ball, our path to a better 2023 begins and ends with hope. If currently bad/mediocre players don't improve as much as we hope, we're looking at another mediocre team/season next year.

And once you've had three bad/mediocre seasons in four, it may just be that you're mediocre.

We were very fortunate to make a bowl. Coming off a sugar now win year.

With supposedly our best OL ever.

And now we have even more key pieces gone and also lost the marquee commit having lost every high profile qb we've had the lat few years.

OC fired 2 years ago. DC fired this year.

Zero capitalization on last years success. Which supposedly comes the next year.

Maybe things work out but we're now in rebuild mode.

Is what it is.

Just stating the obvious but some on here want to be all Aaron Rogers about it

It's not optimal...but it's not as bad as the chicken littles are making it...

Reverse time and check the TCU board in December 2021.

And check the A&M board in the same time frame.

None of us .and I mean none of us know how any of this will play out.

TCU introduced a whole lot of variables to the equation between 2021 and 2022. So far, all we're adding is a couple of transfers and a new yet-to-be-hired DC.

I hope we get enough improvement from everyone who struggled this year to show dramatic improvement next year. But it's just hope at this point, and will be until our secondary players prove they can cover, our receivers prove they can get open consistently and Blake Shapen proves he's an above average Big 12 starting quarterback.

True....no telling what lies ahead. I don't think many saw a TCU/KSU B12 Title game coming back in August...or TCU in the CFP....or Iowa St going 1-8 in conference play.

Duggan started the year as a backup to Morris and finished as a heisman candidate.
