Seems like kind of a lateral move. Not sure what KB's motive would be unless it was a bigger payday.

Article says there is also a rumor that if he leaves that Arky QB KJ Jefferson would follow him to Miss St.

So Briles Ark offense had an almost identical scoring average as Baylor's offense this year. Baylor averaged 32.2 points per game this year.

It's true that that average is about the same between Arkansas and Baylor. Maybe it says more about the Baylor defense than the Baylor offense?

There is a big difference in Total Yardage:

Ark 471.2 (16th)
BU 413.8 (45th)

I didn't follow Arkansas very closely....but I would guess they must've not been efficient in the Red Zone with the discrepancy between total yards and scoring.

When they are at the 2 yd line, try to reach the ball over the pile to the goal line and fumble it instead, they aren't very efficient.

And why would KJ go to MissSt if Will Rogers is coming back for one more year?

KJ was ranked 17th in QBR while Rogers was ranked 57th. If he did transfer maybe he thinks he can unseat Rogers.

When it comes to Offense, Kendall ain't Art. There's only one Art Briles O.

Very true. I'm curious to see how Monty does at Auburn. He was not impressive at Tulsa but him just being the playcaller at Aub may be better for him.

Sounds like Kendal's agent angling for a pay increase from Arkansas. Fayetteville is a pretty cool town. Starkville is… well they have cowbells

It's very interesting though that head coaches in the SEC, which has 5 teams that have won something like 12 out of the last 15 national championships, are trying to create the Art Briles offense.

Tennessee has done so with Josh Heupel
Auburn is now doing it with Monty
Kiffin did it at Florida Atlantic before doing it again with Ole Miss
Arkansas has done it with Briles Jr. (although I think he has been constrained to some degree more so than in his previous jobs)

Meanwhile, some Baylor fans seem content to turn the page. I live in Tennessee, and I can tell you that the optimism about Tennessee's program is just like what it was when we had CAB himself. Definitely fun times if you are a Tennessee fan. I sure miss those days although I do support Aranda.

Auburn is not a great place to be. They are always going to be second fiddle to their big rival who they may be lucky enough to beat on occasion. But they won't seriously challenge Bama for the conference title & won't be in a playoff any time soon.

It would be great if Grimes could implement some version of the Briles offense while Aranda restored our defense to something like what we had in 2021. That would be a championship level combination!
