I love Baylor but we could use a more consistent fan base. The early September games can be tough. Students often pack under the awning and into the concourse for shade and older season ticket holders can't sit for 4 hours in 100+ degree heat. That being said older fans should be able to sell their tickets without a problem to a fellow fan and students sometimes don't bring the passion when the weather is good.

Top it off some of the alumni sit there like it's church. You don't have to be drunk to yell. It isn't a sin to make noise on 3rd down. As a student I definitely went to some games where I'm sweating my ass off getting loud with all my friends and the alumni side is seated like Tiger Woods is about to tee off at the Masters.
BU is famous for the "announced attendance". I understand your statement highlighted in bold print, BUT schools like TX, OU, aggy, AL, GA, etc, etc their fan bases are faced with exactly the same issues and their stadiums are full. I just don't buy that argument. Look across the Nation, pick any big school and its pretty much the same... larger # of people, same heat, students, OLD people, etc. Face it, I've witnessed it for sixty-five plus years, it's a Baylor thing. Winning, yeah winning matters; however, BU has/had winning programs in BB as of late and I'll be willing to bet the new 7,500 capacity arena will have sparse attendance more so than not. Hoping not, but history may prove it out.
this. The only thing we do more consistently than not show up is making excuses for why we don't show up

My comment was more directed at when we play a Lamar or SFA. Saban has pitched a couple fits over students leaving those games in the past. By conference play it's usually not 100+ degrees minus that ISU tent game. it is very disheartening seeing a 60% full stadium when playing a conference foe.

I think Baylor should track season ticket holders and if they aren't showing up they should lose their seats. That would force them to try and get someone to use their tickets. The university could gift them to members of the community. Get some kids in their ro create life long fans.
If students get tickets and don't use them a couple times they lose their privileges, which makes sense.

The Utah game should be a good test. Major early season game. Stadium should be packed. Will see if alumni have excuses… again

Correct. I missed that. But they are a blue blood, that makes a lot of difference in cfb.
excuses. Fans just need to get off their ass and show up

Follow in new ways. There isn't a BU bar in Tampa. Every school on that list has a bar you go and watch with other fans. Streaming, instead of making fun of PAC12 use it. NFL draft is expanding streaming next year on YouTube.

Schools like BU need to get creative. We are not getting 20k at a Spring Game, nevermind 50k. We are too caught up in the traditional metrics. BU is a pimple in terms of credibility in college football, we need to do it different to keep up. All the things the PAC are trying will come. We need to be doing it, not trashing it

WV has a bar in Nashville. Baylor does as well, but I did notice Baylor doesn't have alumni groups but in like 15 cities. None in Florida, which I find odd.

ummmm we already have tons of content on streamming.......we had espn+ b4 any other conference

Also sounds like a great opportunity to buy a Baylor flag & find a Tampa bar to adopt as the Baylor spot and advertise it to any other bears you know, create an alumni group and have it listed on baylors site. & control what you can control

You are more motivated than me.

I just got my full sun outside tv up to float, watch Aranda smirk intelligently after Shapens latest screw up and drink margaritas.

Brother was a P5 coach, G5 now he moved down better lifestyle, spent too many days in stadiums following rebuilding teams.

I will take the margaritas in the pool and not worry about attendance....

I really do not get the appeal of in person anymore, too many Mich St fans wanting to get in fights, Miami loud music. And the whole host of arrogant fans, sort of like those on the pay for site.

Rhule had almost twice as many at his first Husker spring game than any of his real games at Baylor.
This should scare the living feces out of any Husker fan.

Popcorn ready! About game 4, Huskers fans will be pining for Scott Frost. Rhule is scary bad!!!

Neb & CO ought to be interesting this season. In the past I haven't been inclined to view either very much, but I'm buying extra popcorn this year… can't wait.

The stadium was always rocking will Briles was here. Lots of big plays. Rhule and Aranda's offense is pretty boring to watch.

The Nashville one is relatively active. Have an event like once a quarter and go to a bar for every football game. It is the south so wouldn't expect anything less come football season
