Think about it. Stanford would burst into flames in Waco. BU fans would be lonely in the stands looking for someone to evangelize.

It's a new quote. He's just parroting the same words for months now. Re-read the statement.

Pretty interesting they voted before they applied
I guess it all boils down to who sticks out the hand first.

Colorado is the first domino.

Oregon & UW are now in play along with AZ. If we add those four we are solidly the third best
conference and the PAC goes the way of the old SWC.

I feel the pain. As Baylor fans we've been to the gallows several times ourselves.

Yep, and a lot media folks delighted in Baylor's predicament. Remember Jim Rome "scrubby little Baylor" ? Thank god we we had K Starr back then to actually stand up and fight for Baylor or we'd probably be in the American Conference now.

As much as I would like UW and Oregon, from a fan stand point. The overhead of having them added for each current member is huge. But again UW is huge in my view. They are a rung just below blue blood. They have been fairly mediocre for the past 30 years but they have been at close to elite levels most of their history. I would consider them along with USC and perhaps UCLA one of the hearts of the traditional old PAC 10.
I just don't know about having Oregon. I don't know how their school officials view things, but after reading fan comments, for the last year, I'm beginning to think their arrogance matches or exceeds UT levels. I would think the minute they walk in the first question they ask is where is the back exit. We don't need that **** again. Hard enough to survive from serious cancer once. A second one it unthinkable.

I'm thinking if we can add CU, Oregon, univ of Washington and an Az school our next tv contract will be even better. Maybe enough to be picky when the ACC destabilizes.

Also if CU comes to the b12 as rumored, I'm thinking the GK will have to renegotiate, making details of any deal take even longer.

I would prefer schools that want to be in the Conference and see a cultural fit. I fear that UW and UO see themselves as above the B12. CU, AZ, ASU, WSU, and Utah should all be cultural fits, even Oregon State. A CA school would be nice.

If Oregon doesn't have an offer from Big Ten, they have no leverage over anyone else. Oregon would be a huge add for the Big 12. You'd just have to lay down the law and put them in their place early.

This is a conference of equals. Period. If you don't want to be part of that, go rot in whatever West Coast Frankenstein conference survives this realignment phase.

A good reason could be made to leave Oregon and Washington out for that very reason. They have the mentality of mini-u.t. Austin's

As long as Oregon has Phil Knight & Nike money they are gonna be a pain to work with....and Washington is in Seattle...need I say more.

But whatever...its not my call

True. SDSU or Fresno would be closer fits.

Probably so but we are not adding any school that is not currently P5. Only those allow us to expand with the some money for each school.

A couple of things no one in the current XII and I'm including CU just for arguments sake is going to allow O and UW to act like Texas and OU did in the original version of the XII and the later version of the XII. BY also is not going to be Bowlsby to them. So I dont think you have to worry about that. They would be dealt with quickly and appropriately if they tried. I frankly would not even worry about UW trying to be a new OU or UT.

No G5 schools (that includes UConn). We're full up. No Basketball only schools either.

The Big 12 is likely going to poach another team from the Pac 9. That cert add only us preferable to a G5.

Not sure if you're serious about Oregon St., but with a young alum as head coach, they are positioned to be a major player for a long time. Zero baggage, zero drama . . . . . but zero eyeballs other than us diehard college football junkies.

Supposedly the XII Presidents and Chancellor's also voted to back off basket ball only moves for the time being.
