Rumor is best (only?) media deal is $200m / year from Apple. So basically, you stay together and start cutting sports programs (except Stanford) with the hope that more bidders come out in a few years or the model changes enough that you can get on more equal footing, or you bolt.

And it may not be $30 mil for those two. If it's $20 or less, equally distributed, those two will not accept. At least that's the vibe I've been hearing for weeks.

It seems there's nothing to Pac 9 can do to survive as a P5 conference.

30 each for ORWA.

25 each for the Four-Now-Three Corners

20 each for OSU, WSU, Cal and Stanford

60+75+80=215

The difference will be paid by charging admission fees for new member schools, who then will play for nothing. BUT Nike will give them free uniforms.

I suspect whether it would be called a power conference would be determined by the media. Does the PAC media have the ability to head it in that direction? IDK Is there some official outlet that says whether a conference is "Power" or not?
