They're getting ahead of calls for a Black-Out Game, before those might gain any traction.boognish_bear said:
They don't normally announce the uniform plan for the whole season....do they?
But there are still the road game uni's. White jerseys, for sure, but helmet and pant choices could build up the anticipation.Wicked_Wombat said:
Well...now we know...no need to waste countless cycles on uni conversations. Whew!

So guess Mack didn't get Nike to agree to an "alternate" color during 2023? And a black out is out of the question.

Why no yellow/green/yellow? I hate all of those.

Yellow/green/yellow seems like the most obvious choice for home games. Yet, I don't think we've ever done it. A bit surprising.

Serious question: why yellow and not gold?
Maybe gold became popular because the song phrase "we'll fling our green and yellow around to light the ways of time" just would not sound right.LagunaBear said:Married A Horn said:

Our current uniforms are meant to be very traditional/old school. Our original "gold" was based on yellow flowers in a meadow. That's why yellow now. Some time along the way (I think in the 70s), Baylor started wearing an "alternate" gold, and that gold became quite popular, though.

Are curious, what color did the football team year in those yearbooks?

This is a color painting of my dad from the 1965 season. He said they always used gold. Some golds brighter than others, but still gold.

And this is his letter jacket - after the 1966 season:

Agree. Yellow, green, yellow or green, yellow, green would be the best in my view, but none of that. Even white, yellow, green or white green yellow or even white helmets would work for me.Obviously I am not the decider on this!
