How can our defense suck this badly?
And how can Aranda struggle so much with his coordinators?

Slogans have nothing to do with what happened last night and no one is trying to kill the football program. Everyone try to remain reality based here.

Slogans are established to set an attitude. They do mean something. Baylor football had the one word slogan BUshido one year. They won a conference championship that year. BUshido means "the warrior way". The plan is to kill any resemblance of what Baylor football was regardless of how disconnected from the underlying issues were at that time. For example, when is the last black uniform game or blackout game?
Besides Long Island, where do the other 2 wins come from on the schedule? The Banterer said:
I think Aranda needs to get to at least 3 wins and show serious improvement on the defensive side of the ball to save his job. Teaff had some pretty rough non-con losses but always showed some fight in conference, and while Artilla the Hun's era was fun at the time, the crash was not, so I think it's wise to keep patience on the table if you think a guy might be a great fit who will reciprocate your loyalty.
If we keep Aranda, we probably have to commit for at least two years since we need a complete rebuild on the offensive side of the ball, and doing that with a 1-year leash is a recipe for bringing in a sniper from West Texas A&M.
As for possible replacements if things go south, Traylor would be the first choice, though I'd be a bit worried he has his sights on Texas/A&M long-term. Beyond that you do a proper search and find the best guy you can.
If this is anything close to reality this is the depressing. Not knocking this post as the admin is probably thinking like this. The Banterer said:

Wouldn't be a bad way to whittle down the entitlement mentality and help young people to deal with the real world, unless dismissed players just responded by filing suit.PBRBear said:
Can it be said that with NIL and the transfer portal it is possible for a coach to fire his team, not just assistant coaches. Texas State had 50 plus new scholarship players this season and Colorado had something like 68. It seems like another option in today's climate. Not that it is good, but those are two concrete examples where it seems to have worked. Those two scenarios unfolded in 1st year of new coach so maybe it is unique to that. Just seems like we may see more of that in future. Scholarship based on high performance/NIL expectations and if player does not perform, they are gone. Line between college sports and professional seems to be disappearing.
