Well…..looks like another PR blunder potentially. That really should be honored this season. If no plans, we have among the lamest PR and branding unit in the country.

I am sure the administration will totally overlook this one. It was a Briles team after all, and according to the BOR we must erase all the good memories.

Should do something at the Texas game; lots of highlights on the video board of the IceFog Bowl, invite back all the players, even trot Coach Briles out there for a warm welcome

Do a black out for an 11am kickoff. Who gets to be honored and lead the stadium Sic em cheer? So many superstars from that team.

They should have started planning this a year ago, so our former players can make travel plans. This is crazy.

2013 team was big boy football
We don't associate ourselves with that anymore

Wow - it didn't dawn on me until now that it's the 10th anniversary of that historic season. Something is seriously wrong if there isn't some kind of a celebration/recognition of the accomplishments of that team.

That's why it ain't happenin', if you know what I mean. In fact, it's beyond interesting that our first two Big XII championship years are even still on the wall in McLane, dontcha think?

This is honestly so easy and its frustrating it's not figured out yet. But especially with the week 1 result, there is only 1 (kinda 2) possible solution.

Solution 1:
Going into the Texas game we may be 1-2. In order to get people in the stands have the reunion that day and invite everyone, yes, everyone. Even the dude in Fort Worth (I know they have a game but y'all get my point). Then, either wear the throwback jerseys we wore that day in the freezing cold or wear the black and gold jerseys that we all know and love. Recognize everyone on the field PRIOR TO the game, NOT at halftime. Doing this before the game will get people in the stadium early making the atmosphere much better.

Solution 2:
Same as solution 1 but at the last home game of the year.

This stuff is not hard...

I'm not surprised
They had a celebration of the 1983 Bluebonnet Bowl team in 2003
So maybe they'll have something for the 2013 in 2033?

If they don't acknowledge it you know that's EXACTLY what it is

And therefore they will NOT grace the field say at HOMECOMING

what a bunch of woke ass looooooooozers

I'm still shocked that the race angle (every single accusation was against a black player no?) was allowed to be gotten away with while zero convictions were achieved fr one of the most heinous crimes a human can be capable of.

Shame

BU should honor that team, players, trainers, yell leaders, managers, staff ….. and the coaches. Long past time to forgive even if not forgetting. No need to highlight the coaches. But to play like none of the history occurred, good and bad, is childish and petty. Take the high ground, Baylor. Restore relationships. Be "bigger" than all moments and past events.

The greatest team in Baylor history - that I contend could have won a natty - is ignored because the old racists on the BOR didn't like the black players dancing on the sidelines and dating white women.

Not sure whether to laugh or cry at this response, but am sure it is a simple take, maybe in comedic form (?), of a total university failure at every level to address systemic problems caused by irresponsibility; perhaps denial of reality. Deflecting responsibility never serves anyone well. It is time to try to make amends, or at least make the attempt.

That '83 team was 7-4-1. The school waited 2.85 years per win.
That means the 2013 is looking at about 31 years, so 2044.

There was a great picture on the wall of the Baylor club - pic of players and Briles hoisting the big 12 championship trophy on the field. Someone took it down and replaced it with one of a million photos of Pat Neff. Tells you all you need to know.

Probably not. Would be nice to unveil an Art Briles statue next to the stadium but they will never happen.

Are those are good ideas but it won't happen. I cannot imagine anyone at Baylor inviting anyone named Briles to a game, any game. The ONLY reason KB will be at a Baylor game is because of his new job.

That's an excellent idea. Maybe even do it for homecoming. There should be enough time to organize something like that.

The only way I'm coming to a game this year is if they do this and Art comes to the field.

Will never happen - but man, bring some popcorn if it does!

I'd wear my black #CAB shirt from 2016 if that happens.
