Spencer Pratt Surges to Second in LA Mayoral Primary
Last updated 5 minutes ago
In Los Angeles' nonpartisan mayoral primary, incumbent Karen Bass leads with 36.5% of votes tallied so far, while Pratt holds a strong second at 30.1%, ahead of Councilmember Nithya Raman's 20.2%. No one reached the 50% needed to win outright, setting up a November runoff between the top two amid the city's battles with homelessness, crime, and urban decline. Pratt's social media campaign, fueled by before-and-after images of areas like Skid Row and his personal fire story, tapped into voter frustration despite his reality TV past.

It seems as if Pratt is getting some pretty good traction.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

He will end up losing because the regime-party in California is just too good at ballot harvesting and buying votes

But it will be closer than usual.

Unfortunately real democracy does not exist on the ground in California anymore

True.
There has definitely been a surge out here, and we're seeing a conservative push we haven't seen in a long time.
But at the end of the day, with voting indiscretions along with voter ignorance, it will be more of the same.
I saw a you tuber who was interviewing people at The Grove seeing who they were voting for.
The first three were women who said Bass. Of course.
The first was a black woman whose reasoning was "black pride." Of course. Nothing else she could say to justify a vote for the failure.
The second was another black woman who said she's voting Bass because she liked how she threw a party for Ramadan. Another educated winner.
The third looked like a retread from the movie Sid and Nancy who said she felt that other woman would do great in handling the homeless crisis. lol
That tells you all you need to know.
At least the other seven included six men and one woman. They all said they were voting Pratt. And interestingly they all had CONCRETE reasons for voting for Pratt, and not the other candidates. Go and figure.
We're talking educated voters vs. dimwits. And sadly the dimwits will once again overpower those who are educated. And with the voting issues out here, they'll see to it that the fraudulent slack is picked up where it needs to be.

There is a reason ... it is not a coincidence that it only happens in certain areas.

I remember in 2024, Florida counted 99% of 8m statewide ballots in one day.

It can be done.

Don't forget that California needs to edit at least some of the ballots.

That which does not kill me, will try again and get nastier

California needs it though. Without all the extra time, a Republican might be elected

Fixing might be the right term there.

Breakdown of voting demographics in LA and Cal in general could be interesting.
Of course, anyone getting some sort of financial benefit - even if it costs them in the long run - will be inclined to vote to keep what they're getting.

Activists will vote their ideology no matter how bad it gets.

I would say it's 3rd world

But then that is being unfair to many 3rd world nations who can hold a vote and get the election results in within 24 hours…many within a few hours after the polls close.

So Democratic controlled States and cities in the USA are a special breed of dysfunctional (possibly on purpose)

Of course they could do it within 24 hours, but how would all the Democrats get elected then? A Republican might sneak in!

Crappy excuse. Those votes don't take weeks to count in normal places. Breeds a serious distrust of the voting system. Somehow they don't seem to care.
