The last thing I thought I'd hear a CFB coach say when I got up this morning is "Grab your step ladders & climb out of my ass"

They're under tremendous pressure. I have no problem with them fighting back.

I wish Aranda would.

I believe in Aranda's mind the fight back will occur through his guys on yhe field. I hope he is right. I generally like his attitude actually. He doesn't need to respond to noise here. I like that Aranda isn't full of bs talker actually.

I am not sure why they are mad at him this season. They are 3-0, beat who they should, by what they should. The only close game was in-state rival ISU, which rivalries always throw records out.

They can be in a lot worse shape!

No doubt and a big part of that is because in today's world football HCs at the P5 level make enough $$ in one year to reasonably set themselves up for the rest of their life (as long as they aren't complete financial idiots).I know at times they have to deal with some unfair things, but the pressure understandably goes with the territory.

Hence, the Baylor QB situation. Saying all schools deal with it is not enough, when you want the big money and term. Figure it out.

Good line, but Brian Ferentz has been atrocious as an OC at Iowa. He's earned the criticism he's gotten -- and brought his dad.

You know it is funny the perception of who is an honorable person and who is not. Ferentz hired his son to a multi-hundred thousand dollar a year job and has kept him after he has been horrible. But, you talk to the Football world, Ferentz is gentleman and honorable. Anyone else, it is full out nepotism.

I think it has to do with being quiet...

They likely will be when they play tougher opponents.

I think Kirk Ferentz has earned a lot of latitude. As boring as it can be to watch Iowa play these days, they continue to win -- something Kirk has done his entire time on that campus.

So I understand his frustration, as the winningest coach in that program's history, at the criticism and second-guessing he takes from fans and the media. But objectively speaking, his son was awful at his job last season. That offense undermined a national championship level defense in 2022.

While still not great -- or even very good -- the offense has been better this season. We'll see how the rest of the year plays out.

He brought a lot on by hiring his son for a very public role that pays very well. I really believe that is driving alot of it. Bobby Stoops, as successful as he was, took heat over his brothers. Spurrier over his son. Lou Holz. They all do it and all get heat. Spurrier had to demote his son.

I'm pretty sure this is actually an AI deep fake. Look at his mouth.

And there's a small jump cut after "and if I'm not mistaken ..."
