This team's problems are not if Shapen plays QB. No motivation from HC. He's waiting for a player to step up and motivate them. Sorry it starts with the HC.

Baylor should have kept Joey McGuire for less money. Long after Aranda is gone McGuire will still be coaching at TT.

It seems like at some point the goal switched from winning games to nothing can be or appear like anything Briles. And if that means getting nuked back to the age of Steele, the decision makers don't care. This is why Mulkey is gone since she was a coach when Briles was here and she was winning games.

Clearly OL is a big problem.

Don't get your hopes up. Blake is better but that Oline will be the death of us. I have found peace in accepting that our season is over already

We have several receivers with butterhands.

We have essentially 1 back with any initial burst of speed whatsoever as he takes handoffs.

We have collectively the worst blocking group of tight ends imaginable.

Ditto for the running backs and their ability to lay even the most basic block.

We have an offensive line full of kids who would not start for a lot of G5 programs.


And that's just the offense. Don't even get me started on the defensive side.

Here's what Blake does, and why there is legitimate reason to be optimistic about his return. He takes our quarterback play from incompetent to competent, which is no small thing in an offense designed to get first downs, chew clock and keep the defense off the field.

Sawyer Robertson, God bless him, just isn't good enough at this stage in his development to effectively run our offense. And he may never be. And while our offensive line is a bigger problem than our quarterback position currently, a competent quarterback capable of taking what a defense is giving goes a long way toward keeping an offense on the field and finishing drives in the end zone.

I don't think Blake Shapen is going to take us from dog water to a title contender. But he will turn blowouts into competitive games. And any game you're in in the fourth quarter is a game you have an opportunity to win.

It's an assumption to think that Blake returning as quarterback will suddenly turn everything around, but it's also a big assumption to assume that he won't immediately get hurt again.

Future Goals:

1. Fire choades
2. Hire a HC who has taken a program and turned them into a winner. Conference champion should be the minimum bar here.

But the O line was the problem last year and 0, NADA improvement from the prior year. Where do we get the no bodies from and that includes the D in its entirety
