We are all under informed on Baylor NIL. on purpose.

And I think it's a good thing.

I do know we are more involved and have more NIL resources than most of the posters here really.
Our NIL is good, but we can't afford to fire Aranda. Sounds like we need to reallocate our resources. Cause NIL ain't working and neither is Aranda.

My understanding is its only good enough to give all the players around $20,000 a year.

If true...that does not sound good at all

Good to know. Confirmation that our NIL does indeed suck.

I have to wonder what Men's Basketball is doing for NIL. Scott Drew does not seem to have any problem bringing in 5 Star recruits.
Basketball only needs a couple BMA with ghost egos, (with or without NIL) Football needs plenty more. And the competition within the 3 (now maybe 2) sports is gonna get ugly (uglier).

Already has. The uts and ous immediately recognized that with NIL they could buy up all the players they could. Even tech knows it is pay to play now.

I actually meant the competition for the big donors within programs. Especially the few (in smaller programs) that might not want huge pub, but help in big ways. Gotta have'em unless a university wants equal pay to each player.

It can divide departments and staffs.

While it's important, Our current NIL program is not the cause of our Dave Roberts-esque team performances ability and personality.

Everyone makes bad hires….you fix it quickly and move on.

Is NIL really the problem?

Based on baylor's NIL website, we are #2 in the Big 12 in total NIL.

Does that mean we are #9 in football related NIL but own everything else? I don't know. The info given is vague.

https://nil.baylorbears.com/

No one knows what anyone else is doing, so anyone who says that they're number x in their league is full of it. But, using common sense, no one here believes that Baylor is outperforming Texas and Oklahoma in NIL for football - let alone likely TCU and Tech (with its $25k minimum).
Do coops and these NIL groups have to submit records for tax purposes?

If not, they should be required. We need transparency across the board in regards to NIL.

If/when players can get paid from TV revenue, then the schools should be able to cut them at will.

I would agree if the school was paying them. With NIL its donor money. I figure its just a matter of time before the players get a cut of the TV money. Then cutting them at will will probably be the norm.

This thread makes me wonder what Briles would have done in the NIL era. He was no beta, so methinks he would have had an NIL machine cooking! Him and his smoking hot wife (I've never seen her, but he's an alpha, so I'll jus assume) would have been able to make all donors swoon and we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

But, alas...

7 years, 1000 years, my loyalty remains forever. I left my wife in 2016 over a dispute about Art Briles and I've never looked back.

There is no to benefit to living in the past.
Didn't you read my post? I left my wife and never looked back! My love for Briles will never fade. For at least 10 minutes per day, I sit and stare at my Kim Mulkey bobblehead that was signed by Art one time when I snuck into practice. I meditate upon it and channel my energy towards healing whatever hurt he has and rectifying him with the Baylor family. My record is 3 hours and 57 minutes, but I do it for at least 10 minutes per day.

That would be amusing if the CABers were so devoted
