Have you watched the Cincinnati offense try to operate? They'll make our defense look much better than it is. This will be a rock fight. Neither team is blowing out the other IMO.

You said that about the Tech game.. and they embarrassed us. You're right Cincy is terrible offensively. However, that likely won't matter. We're abysmal on both sides of the ball. Fully expecting to get a good ole spanking from a bad Cincy team

Tech is a better football team than Cincinnati is by every measure. Cincinnati is deficient at the quarterback position. Emory Jones is awful and their backup is worse.

If we get blown out by Cincinnati, Aranda and Co. should be fired on the spot. I'm not saying we'll win. But there is no rational justification for us to be unable to compete with Cincinnati.

Tech is garbage… and their QB play?? Cincy is bad you'll get no argument. But we just got obliterated at home by a garbage ass Tech team. I know we got some Joey homers on here but his squad is garbage as well.

And this is the greatest failure of our season. Everyone wants to point to scheme and playcalling, when our offensive staff's greatest failure by far was thinking they could compete with this offensive line.

Grimes is a competent OC. He's proven this the last three seasons. But he essentially sabotaged himself and our team with this O-line. You can not operate any offense effectively with the level of line play we've gotten through the first six games of this season.

Tech isn't garbage. They're a mediocre football team. They entered Saturday ranked 32nd nationally in FEI, compared to Cincinnati at 46 and Baylor at 69. None of these teams are good, but there are levels to this.

Just calling everyone garbage and saying we have no chance every week ignores the fact that football outcomes are most often determined by matchups.

That's why we beat UCF. They were one of the only teams in the Big 12 we were going to have success running against. This week's matchup is a similar deal. Cincinnati isn't as well equipped as most teams in our league to exploit our biggest weaknesses defensively. They don't run the ball particularly well and their passing game is erratic, to put it kindly.

We suck. No one is suggesting otherwise. Everything we've put on paper this season leads us to that conclusion. But we're not just going to get blown out every game. And if we can't compete with the Cincinnatis and Houstons of the world, it's time to burn this thing to the ground and start over.

Techs 3-4… and their best win is against Houston… spin numbers all you want. They're 3-4 and will finish under.500. Mediocre squads go 6-6 7-5 ish. Not 4-8 like Techs likely to be. As far as BU being competitive against Cincy. I'll believe it when I see it. Dave has given me no reason to think he will have us competing Saturday. One lucky quarter against UCF doesn't change my opinion that we're one of the bottom 5 P5 squads right now

If Tech is forced to finish its season with a third-string, true freshman quarterback, you might be right. But before the injuries to Tyler Shough and Behren Morton, they led a top-10 Oregon squad in the fourth quarter and had played right with every team on a very solid schedule.

They're a better football team than Cincinnati is by every metric. But that was never my point to begin with. It was you that introduced Tech into a discussion that has nothing to do with them.

Football is about matchups, and Cincinnati is a better matchup for this Baylor team than Tech is. We could struggle to score because they're solid defensively, but their offense will keep us in this game.

This goes back to a discussion we had earlier this season. You predicted us to get blown out by Utah and UCF because you predict us to get blown out every game. That's not how football works. Matchups matter.
