I don't know if this is new or if it's been there for awhile...but I was just checking out the team roster and noticed there is a "$" sign by their name. If you click on it then you will see a menu of options of things you can pay the player for. Seems a little like that celebrity "Cameo" service.

Also, are these players handing kids invoices outside the player's entrance as they exit and sign a kid's ball after a game? Or is Mack collecting cash upfront before players exit? How does this work?

I can remember the days you'd go to an event and the players would just sign your gear for nothing....

It's a clearinghouse for everyday people to be part of NIL for their favorite teams and players.

I count 229 schools are participating with them, and each school then has multiple teams.

Do you think we were gonna get a leg up on the blue bloods before NIL? It doesn't seem like that landscape has really shifted that fundamentally with NIL. It's still the same haves and have nots like before.

True, but I agree with RD2 in the sense that every change that is made makes it more difficult for a team without the resources and recruiting to win a national title. Adding the 12th regular season game, adding a conference championship game, adding the BCS (which removed the possibility of multiple national champs), adding the 4 team playoff, adding the transfer portal, adding NIL, removing conference divisions, expanding the 4 team playoff to 12, etc. - each of these actions on their own made it at least slightly more difficult for a program like Baylor to win a national title independent of the historical advantages that some programs had (i.e. resources, reputation, geography, alumni base, alumni engagement, etc.). In aggregate, those actions will effectively reduce the chances of a team like Baylor winning a national title to nearly zero.

This is actually more in line with how traditional "Name Image Likeness" fees should work.

The players are simply listing their ask for appearing at these events for the category presented. Voice actors and others appearing at conventions will do the same thing (really, all celebrities will do this usually via their agents).

I can't speak for them, but I"m willing to bet the players will still gladly sign autographs for fans in the context of Baylor events. If a grown man wants a football or jersey signed by the player, then he'll likely need to pony up.

A lot of these "fans" will hoard this items and hope the athlete becomes uber-popular so they can sell them on eBay. They never intended to get the autograph for the love of the game.
