Why doesn't the media ask Aranda if his job is in danger?

Why does no member of the media simply ask, "Should your job be in danger" and then leave a long pause for an answer. Lots of ways to dodge it, but sometimes you can see micro-expressions or at least it's been asked.

Most of our media members are University plants for lack of a better word. Media members don't like to ask tough questions, because they'll be denied access to those coaches/players if they go too far

Major outlets with no affiliation to Baylor have correspondents there so it's not fully explained by just a fraternal press audience.

Not sure Baylor is in the position of cutting off what few major media outlets endure the appreciation conferences.

I'm in DFW and care a lot. Baylor has more than zero been building a reputation. You can't say there's none of that. And people have noticed. The press from the last 15 years, some of it attests to that. I get you're in a lousy mood, but that's not the answer either that no one cares. I get what you're saying in proportion and certainly this season, but don't buy that as an answer.

What he said was hyperbole, but there's still a lot of truth to it. Our fanbase is small. There's not going to be that much outrage. Remember, this is a fanbase that shushes people and calls security if their fellow fans are too loud at basketball games

As you know, Ave is one of only 6 Latino head coaches in college football.

The degree to which this plays a part is unknown. Having sat on deic committees, I'd imagine it's not 0%. There's different standards

A couple of weeks ago Dave himself said he knew he was coaching for his job.

I think he's aware.
