Pound the Rock

Now that our train wreck of a season is about to get the final bullet in the head on Saturday night that it so deserves, would someone explain to me what Pound the Rock was suppose to mean. Was this a Grimesism or something made up by our Athletic Dept. marketing department?

I assume it's meaning is ......... make 3rd down plays, run all over the defensive line, punish defensive backs who get in the way, score lots of points......

I cannot remember any game where we proudly unfurled this bold statement by our play on the field.

Baylor's version of "Pound the rock" means up the middle....up the middle.....wobbly pass......punt. Repeat 16 times. ZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!

'Pound the Rock' worked when BU had a good OL and Abe Smith, not so much this year.

We pounded the rock when we had Randy Clements

That wide zone, that is something worth being a guru...

Normally "pound the rock" in football means bench your RB1 and prioritize snaps to your RB3. As in the best chance of converting 3rd downs is "pounding rocks" on the sideline, regretting his decision to stay in Waco.

It might mean something different to Grimes and Aranda?
