He also knows how to recruit better than Aranda. And he knows how to develop 2-3 star prospects into NFL-ready elite performers. And he knows how to take a team that's underperforming and build that team up to transition to P5 competition.
And he never benched Clayton Tune or Tank Tell for a season out of spite because saying someone is a "good man" doesn't make him a good man.

In all areas Dana is a better coach and better leader than Aranda. All.

So, Dana is probably better than what we have but he only won 4 games this year, won 2 in conference just like us. If you look at recruiting, not too good. We can do better than that!
Idk, I think you need to look at his whole career not just UH's first year in a P5 league. He had some pretty decent teams at WVU and had the pokes offense cooking during their heyday. As an OC he's pretty darn good.

When Holgorsen was hired at Oklahoma State, the Cowboys' offense was ranked No. 61 nationally in total offense. In his first season the offense led the nation in total offense, averaging 537.6 yards per game, was No. 2 in passing offense, averaging 354.7 yards per game, and No. 3 in scoring offense, averaging 44.9 points per game.[8]

Exactly. Don't judge a G5 team by their total W/L in year 1 of P5. Judge by the effort it took to build to that level. With or without Dana UH will win 8-9 games next season and it's because of his work. They made a mistake pinning him for this one year of growth.

In 2021 he closed out with a win over Auburn. In 22 UH only played 2 P5/Big12 teams and lost Both (Tech and KU) as out of conference games. This year UH won 2 Big12/P5 games. That's progress. That didn't happen in a vacuum.

Houston won't win 8 or 9 ball games next year! He is a Career 57% winner at the head coach level.
