I'm taking my seven year old son to his first Baylor football game tomorrow at McLane Stadium. We are going to get to the game early and enjoy some of the pre-game festivities. I want to bring with me a drawstring backpack to carry an extra change of clothes for him, a small hand towel, and a water bottle or two. He's a sweaty kid and may need a change during the game.

Does anyone know if I am going to have any trouble bringing this drawstring backpack to the stadium? This is not a large, regular type backpack. I'm sure if my wife came with her large bag then it would not be a problem. But us dad's are always looked differently in these situations.

I would appreciate any help.

Pretty sure I have seen those types of bags carried in before, just have to let them look through it. My wife always brings that large clear bag they send us and they just take a quick glance in it and let us through. The only problem I could see would be the bottles of water....they sell it inside for the low, low price of $4 a bottle so I doubt you will be allowed to bring those in.

Also, I think you can go to the Baylor website and find out which types of bags/items are allowed to be brought inside the stadium.

I'm taking a barf bag to the game so I'll be ready.

Have fun at the game....but like Oso Pardo said you might not get the water bottles into the game. You are allowed to take an empty water bottle to fill up inside. Last year my kids would take the drawstring packs in that sometimes they would get from Touchdown Alley as a giveaway.

We've used that exact type bag to bring in baby stuff since the stadium opened and they said no diaper bags and set limits on bag sizes. Disclaimer: haven't been yet this year so I'm not how strict they are being.

Yes. We've taken in drawstring bags into McLane every home game for our kids that contain iPads, iPods, Nintendos, etc. with no problems. Gotta keep those kids occupied so I can watch the game. The bags are just subject to search at the metal detectors....freaking nazis.

For clarity, your drawstring bag was not clear and they allowed it?

My wife brought one last year.

Brought one of the green giveaway drawstring bags in last week without incident. You're good to go.

When they confiscated my daughter's candy corn, I began outmaneuveribg them with the dad secret weapon - cargo shorts.

They did not let us bring the little draw-string bag in last week. They told my wife that it was a back-pack and was not allowed. We had to take everything out and leave the bag with them. However, we saw a lot of bag like that in the stadium once we got in.
