No real surprise here considering how ineffective he was at running routes and blocking when he was utilized. Dabney and now Roberts have us two TE's lighter.

This sucks after losing Dabney. Roberts is a solid receiving tight end.

The only good news, if there is any, is that until last year, Spavital hadn't really utilized a tight end much, so his offense can work without one.

I was not impressed with Jake Robert's play in 2023 season. Grimes spent so many roster spots on TE's to develop that i believe it hurt the team overall.

If we can use this scholarship roster spot for an OL or DL spot I will be happy.

Does it really matter. Terrible route runner, inefficient blocker for an older guy and has the dropsies. TE is one of the few positions we have. Kelsey Johnson did good during his time

He's a good player. It's all good if they replace him with a better player, perhaps someone yuuuuge that can block or tackle.

Interesting we have a wide range of opinions on Roberts.

I have to say I was not impressed with his athleticism or his ability to catch, but have no real judgement on his blocking or route running.

Maybe the new OC spoke truth to him about his play and a possible attitude behind it. I, for one, hope that's the case.

We still have freshmen Polley and Kloponstein. The later was a four star and Polley caught a touchdown pass this year. We are in good shape at tight end. We need some speedsters that can open up the field and catch long passes.

I would like to see Polley get more involved with the offense. I thought he was a good commit when we got him. Interesting skill set. Really more of a big bodied wide receiver than a tight end

Washington had those tall lean tight ends that were fast. We have had large slower tight ends that mostly blocked. You need both.

No no no. Any player that leaves Bu sucks, even if they do well after leaving, make it to the NFL, etc. They still suck.

Likewise any player that transfers in is amazing and awesome...

Well he didn't play that well this year. Rumor is they brought him on so they could snag his 4 star prospect brother
