It's easier to teach someone that is fast to catch a football than it is to teach someone that is slow that can catch a football to be fast.

Sort of. As Stoops used to say, if you have a fast receiver that can't run routes, he's just running out of position faster.

Baldwin is a less talented version of Chris Platt. Neither are consistent enough catching the football.

Baldwin's vertical utility in a misdirection scheme that moves horizontally basically made his speed a moot point. The only times he's really affected a game with it was when he broke out off of short crossers and screens. Which was rare.

My hope is that Spav's vertical spread combined with Finn's higher ypc average breaks him loose and allows us to actually throw behind defenses for once.
