Colorado has been surprising so far early in the season.

We figured this conference would be fairly wide open. KU has been an unexpected flop. It'll be interesting to see who eventually rises to the top. Wish we were one of the teams in play.

What's funny/sad is if Colorado doesn't connect on a Hail Mary toss in the rain with time expiring then Colorado and us would both be 1-1 middle of the pack.

All that tells me is that espn's FPI is inaccurate and worthless.

The kicker in all this is that if either James Madison or UNLV goes undefeated, ESPN believes it would knock the Big 12 champ out of a top 4 champ spot and relegate the Big 12 champ to an at large spot.

Imagine a 2024 season where Colorado wins the Big 12 and the Big 12 champ doesn't take a top 4 champ spot. Whew.

I hope it's a setup for a similar second half collapse as last season.

Baylor made Deion a hero. That may be the hardest part of that game to swallow,

Colorado is a pretty awful team with glaring issues.

But unfortunately for us (and the rest of humanity in general), Shadeur and Hunter are basically good enough to carry them through a pretty mediocre conference.

They're 3-4 guys on that roster who will be drafted pretty early. Colorado has some very good players.
As a lifer Falcons fan it's really hard for me to knock Prime but the reality is Hunter or possibly Shedeur could be top 3 draft picks if Prime got out of the way. NFL teams aren't going to want Deion as part of a package deal.

To be fair, they took us to OT. Should never have allowed that.

Seeing Colorado get the second-best odds to win the Big 12 is a big surprise! I mean, they've turned heads with Deion Sanders at the helm, and their team has been exciting to watch, but being ranked that high makes you think. It feels like a bold call, especially with teams like Texas, Oklahoma State, and Kansas State still looking strong. Maybe the ESPN FPI is seeing potential in their recent performances, but it could also be a little optimistic.
