Please go review the Bill Beall and Kevin (the bean sprout) "Steal" years and then get back to me.
I've probably been around longer than any other poster, well maybe 2 or 3 have been around longer, but our history is horrible in football. I don't see the difference is getting killed at Cal under Beall or getting killed in the Cotton Bowl under Teaff or playing 500 ball which is pretty much our standard.

If we had a real AD he would see it obvious you cannot build a DL or OL when you keep firing coordinators who recruit every year. CDA has obviously shown us this year who he is. A DC that cannot recruit.

A DC that gave up 542 Total Yards and 43 points to a team that had previously averaged 28 points per game.

There's not a huge enough talent difference between most teams that on a given day anyone can pull off win, favored or underdog. All FBS teams have good talent.

Most teams are reasonably equal, equal enough that every game has to actually be played with no certain outcome. In the end, if there is a clear advantage or deficit in the quality of numerous decisions the coaches have to make during a game, that can be the most important difference between winning and losing.

Make consistently good decisions, you greatly increase your odds of winning. Make consistently questionable decisions, you greatly decrease your odds of a favorable outcome.

That's essentially what it comes down to. Make good decisions, do thorough enough scouting of your opponents, have the best possible plans for your own teams performance, have the best possible available adjustments ready to go when you need them and make consistently good in-game situational decisions.

That's what we're looking for.
