Back in the saddle. I just can't see us winning this game on the road against a decent TT team. If we somehow pulled off the upset getting bowl eligible becomes much more doable. I am glad it's at least not a night game there.

But... We are probably going to have to wait at least another week for a better shot at a win.

Got a feeling the line stretches to 9.5 or 10.

I am shocked at this line.

Me too. It's already heading toward -10

Very surprised. I thought it would be 13-14 points the way TT plays offense.

We lose by 17. And I'm only saying 17 instead of 20 because we had a really good week of practice.

Based on that, we lose by 24

Where do you see that? From what I'm seeing it's actually dropped a half point to 7 even

TTU has the #1 Scoring offense, #3 Total offense, and #5 Passing offense.

Baylor's defense (with their "guru") is strictly middle of the road in all categories.

TTU's defense is ranked second from the bottom of the conference.......but so is Baylor's offense (with their "wonder kid" OC).

On the road, this one could get ugly if Baylor comes out at kick off flat as they've shown a propensity to do.

Unfortunately, this one becomes another notch in the exit door for Aranda.

I think Joey will have them fired up to play us, but we also seem to play Texas Tech pretty close. If they come out and play like they're trying to get the pizza there in 30 minutes or less and we play like we typically do in the first quarter, Tech will easily cover that. 45-31 kind of game

I really hate betting against my school… But that seems like such an obvious bet

I typically avoid betting against BU even when I think they'll win. But this just feels way to good to pass up

Against B12 competition so far TT beat ASU by 8, beat Cincy by 3, and beat Zona by 6.

Those team's records:

ASU 5-1
Cincy 4-2
Zona 3-3

I'm sure TT will try and make it a high scoring shootout and we aren't built for that.

I'm not really sure what we are built for actually.

It changed, came down after being in the 8.5 range.

Very surprised. If I were betting, I'd bet Tech all day with a 7 point spread. Seems Vegas books have not learned. 0-3 ATS the last 3 games.

So you're saying they are 3-0 against teams whose combined record is 12-6?

What's our record again?

I acknowledge the negative consensus on the board regarding Tech. However, given that Sawyer Robertson is starting his first college game at home near Coronado HS in Lubbock, he is gonna light up the Tech defense. BU by 3 or maybe just a safety!

It is so hard for college teams to find a quality QB. Even a lot of the highly recruited guys don't pan out.

We are really lucky to have Sawyer. It's a shame that even with him we've not been able to win.

The BYU game has grown to -9. It will be a Friday night game in Provo.

I do think we will have success throwing the ball against Tech's secondary, which still isn't very good. But we have to prove we can slow a decent offense and avoid making game-breaking mistakes before I'll predict an upset against them or anyone else.

Tech fan here...

This is eerily similar to 2022 if you ask me. We were riding high, coming off a win against WVU, with all sorts of upward trend and momentum.

You all were down, coming off a loss. Coming to Lubbock, night game, Patrick Mahomes ring of honor ceremony. Everyone here predicting doom and gloom, no way BU would win, Tech would destroy you, etc. etc. Somewhat similar sentiment on the Tech boards. I don't remember the line, but I think it was at least the same as the current line, maybe even a greater margin.

And what happened? You destroyed us. Whipped us on both sides of the line. Up and down the field. It was never close from the opening kick.

This is all too similar this year going into this game, only difference is not being a night game and the hype is no where near the same level as 2022. But everything else sure seems the same.

As someone who has been following the Red Raiders for 49 years (ever since I was 2 years old), we have a sayin' that you all should find pertinent: "Typical Tech". This game has Typical Tech written all over it. I would not bet your hard-earned money on Tech to win or cover.

Just my two cents.

Welcome to the boards.

I remember that game pretty well. I was really surprised with the way that game turned out. But....our program is on a whole different suck level than 2022. Our team at least did well enough to earn a bowl game that year and we had gone 3-2 in our first 5 B12 games before that TT game. Coming off our record setting year in 2021 it felt like we were really in the dumps with how 2022 was turning out....little did we know how much worse it could actually get.

Since Nov 12th of 2022 we have proceeded to go 2-15 against P5 teams. The only 2 wins in that span came against Cincy and UCF who were in their first year as a P5 program.

It's hard for most of us to picture a win before any P5 game these days. Our version of "Typical Tech" is "Baylor gonna Baylor." I am forecasting a greater chance of "Baylor gonna Baylor" this weekend than "Typical Tech."

Unfortunately, that was the last really good, complete game a Dave Aranda-coached team would play.

You could almost count the Oklahoma game the following week, but we gave up almost 500 yards that game and thought long and hard about blowing it in the fourth quarter.

This program has just so stagnated the last two-plus years that there are almost no legitimate reasons for optimism to fuel our hopes at this point. I'm still rooting for a win Saturday, but I wouldn't be all that upset if you just finally put us out of our misery once and for all.

Don't know how accurate this guy's model is… But he gives tech an 88% chance to win
