They should just be happy that their fight song makes sense again.

Uh oh, this kind of talk was the exact precursor to them leaving the big 12.

Except there is not preferential treatment now. A&M is just being sore losers.

You've got to think they're feeling sick right now…
Texas joins the SEC, makes the championship game in year one, and reaches the College Football Playoff.
Meanwhile, A&M baseball starts the season ranked No. 1 now they've vanished from the polls and just got swept by Texas.

If I'm the B10 I'd definitely hear any Aggies pleas. B10 would break into the Texas market in a big way.

That doesn't mean anything to them. They'd rather have UT. Personally, they don't think Aggies are elite enough for B1G.

They'd be better off going to Arkansas and Nebraska and try to do a package deal to the Big 12.

True, if the B10 was wanting into the Texas market right now they would have intercepted UT from the SEC in 21.

I believe the exit fee from SEC is between $30-45mm. That's a lot of money to pay out for the sole purpose of saying "Goodbye to Texas University" again.

If I'm not mistaken, it only takes one SEC member to block an expansion candidate. A&M WELCOMED UT into the SEC. I often wonder if there was a bribe or some special carve out involved. Why did they think it was going to be different now? UT is a cancer.

The reality is that Texas was coming whether Aggy liked it or not.

As long as the Big 3 signed off on it (Bama, Georgia, Tennessee), then it was a done deal.

I don't buy that 'veto' mess for one second.

A&M chose to let UT join the SEC.

Was the right thing to do for the fans of both schools.

As both programs have tons of cash to spend on players, coaches and facilities. Hell it's all professional football now.

Besides the two universities are more similar to each other than their respective alumni would like to admit.

I know the landscape of college ball has changed with NIL, but didn't A&M leave the XII because they were butt hurt over Texas to begin with?
Then Texas follows them to the SEC? Kinda funny.
I know that deal was done years ago now, but it is made even more humorous that as Texas has made that move, they did so with great success. Got to be frustrating for A&M.
Regardless of how things happened, or how much A&M wanted to reunite with Texas (or didn't) by allowing them into the SEC (or didn't), it doesn't change the fact that they're together again.
And A&M is looking up at Texas.
Sucks for the Aggies, and irritates them to no end I'm sure.

Yeah, and UT gets in SEC championship game in football first year (which A&M has never done). And UT steals A&M's baseball coach and is now 1st in the SEC/nation while A&M is an also ran.

The gomers have to be absolutely steaming.

That's not true. You need 70% to get in. The Aggies originally voted no on Texas, but since it was 13-1, the league convince the Aggies to change their vote as a "show of unity"

When Georgia Tech tried to get back into the SEC in 1978, the Yellow Jackets received "no" votes from Auburn and the two Mississippi schools. Depending on who you believe they received a "no" vote from Georgia or an absentee vote, either way they didn't get enough votes to re-enter the conference.

Unless things have changed in the last 10 months the SEC does not have an exit fee. The theory has been if you are dumb enough to leave, more power to you.

I don't think that this has changed since Oklahoma and Texas have joined the conference.
