Today's show 'Good News for Big 12 Country'

1. Neilson ratings that historically drive viewership/media rights valuations are changing. The current system is based on set-top feedback technology that is biased…because the majority of Neilson rating machines are located in large metro areas. New technologies glean big data directly from smart panel TV's. Example: Amazon's NFL viewership ratings increased 8% when using Big Data from this new 'Big Data + Panel' technology. 'Big Data + Panel' viewership numbers are more precise because they include 'out-of-home' views and rural areas. This will directly enhance future media valuations for Big 12 teams (like Baylor, TX Tech, WVU, etc) that have a bigger proportion of viewers outside of major metropolitan centers.

2. Flugaur got a report that Yormark has all 16 Big 12 teams fully aligned in regards to making a Private Equity deal. He can't say if its a 'yes' or 'no'. Rather, it is news that all teams have agreed to the same stipulations needed for a deal to happen or be negated.

Good. I've been looking for an excuse to buy a 98" Samsung with all the upgrades in technology that my 21" Philco doesn't have.

Big Data + Panel could lead to a re-ordering of who's in the P3 after the ACC dissolves.
