I know that many people are eschewing sodas for more healthy options, but for years now Baylor venues have served Pepsi Cola and other Pepsico products with Dr. Pepper available. Now comes a report that Pepsi has fallen out of the top three in soda choices for US consumers. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/yourmoney/article-14679923/pepsi-america-three-sodas-humiliating-shake-up.html

And what are the top 3 you ask? Coke (by more than a 2 to 1 margin), Dr. Peper and Sprite. That's right, Pepsi is not even as popular as Sprite. Baylor needs to give the people what they want. Coca Cola and Coke products.

If I could sign an executive order I would.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Is there a soda that's made out of hops and has alcohol in it?

In all seriousness, Coke and Barq's root beer have always been the best sodas, followed by A&W cream soda in a glass bottle

I was a Coke and Big Red drinker in my younger days. Didn't like Dr. Pepper because it was too sweet and syrupy tasting.

When I switched to sugar free sodas I didn't like Coke, original Diet Dr. Pepper was foul and undrinkable.

When the sweetener formulas started getting better I liked Dr. Pepper better than the rest, and that's been my main soda over the past couple of decades.

But now I'm trying to cut down on Caffeine. I drink the better flavored waters I can find, and an occasional DP during the day. I can drink Diet Coke fountain drink with lots of ice, which is usually the only viable option when eating out. Haven't really liked Sprite since I was a kid.

Anyway, TLDR, but with all that said, Pepsi has always been vile swill. Always will be. It sucks.

Dr Pepper is king. Pepsi is bland. I got tired of Coke as I've gotten older

At least we still get DP.

The stadiums with the worst concession choices are places like Citizens Bank Park in Philly and Nationals Park in DC, where the only drink choices are:

Coke
Diet Coke
Coke Zero
Sprite

Places that go with Pepsi products do it strictly because of price and profit margin. I don't go to restaurants that offer Pepsi products, because it's a pretty good indication of the quality of the restaurant.

Coke - battery acid
Diet Coke - bile
Coke Zero - battery acid lite
Sprite - punch base
additional info above

P.S. Pepsi is just syrupy battery acid.

I vote for root beer floats as an additional choice.

Before Pepsi, Baylor was an RC Cola/Diet Rite campus. Blech.
(RC/DR are owned by Keurig Dr. Pepper, so at least we had DP)

I don't base my restaurant choices on what kind of soda they serve.

I base my choice on any of the following: A) Positive prior experience B) very good reviews C) Hot waitresses

As long as they have Dr Pepper, I'm happy. Sprite is a distant 2nd but I can make do with it. Anything else and I don't care and won't drink it unless its a margarita.

We can always expect the Baylor admin to do what is best for the short term financial benefit of the university. I would not ever expect anything more.

Serious question....could Baylor add these at sporting events....

O'Douls, Heineken 0.0, 3/2 beer, energy drinks like Red Bull or Monster?

Where's the love for RC!! How many of regret drinking 2-3 of these at Floyd Casey in 100 degree temperatures only to get back to the dorms and realize that wasn't the best of ideas.

Baylor needs to sell Beer...

I'll go to my grave wondering why Pepsi even exists. I almost had to go to Betty Ford for my Diet Coke habit, but like someone else mentioned, it waned in my old age.

I'm a diet drinker. Don't like the sugar feeling or drinking calories but I do like sweet.

Diet Coke is nothing more than colored sparkling water. Women seem to like if for some reason. I find it flavorless and undrinkable. Coke Zero a little better but still bad.

Diet Pepsi tastes sweet. It has soda flavor. Best diet product on the market.

Diet Dr Peper tastes close to real Dr. Pepper and is a solid second choice.

Strictly speaking diet. Coke products are horrid. Keep Diet Pepsi and Diet Dr. Pepper.

Pepsi Zero over Coke Zero, all day any day.

Fun fact most probably don't know: 35mg caffeine/12 oz in CZ vs 70 mg caffeine/12oz in PZ. And to be honest pepsi zero might actually taste better than coke zero because I don't think it is as sweet. That's twice the bathroom breaks for coke over pepsi. We live in a society that values efficiency and pepsi is much more caffeine efficient.

A soda thread must mean peak offseason with a regional bid for baseball seemingly out of reach at the moment.

One of the big reasons for Pepsi is being able to use Gatorade for athletes. I am not 100% sure on the contract specifics and financials behind it but I do know athletes prefer Gatorade to All-Sport(Dr. Pepper). Also Gatorade has a bunch of product options for team nutrition.

It's been years since I've had a soda. I give the boy a sparking water and it's like he's getting that soda feeling.

Only soft drinks without artificial dyes should be allowed, right?

Water, maybe.

I remember when I was a kid I liked Mountain Dew in the original green bottle with the hillbilly on the label.

Kids are stupid.

But then that's probably before Pepsi bought them out and ruined it.
