I was always, and still am, a big Matt Rhule fan. He turned around our program when it was literally rock bottom and I'm not sure there was another living soul that both could and was willing to do that. But I have to agree that image looks like a political hit piece --- yikes.

I'll never understand the hate towards Matt Rhule. He put Baylor football back on the map.

MR is an opportunist who lacks a shred of loyalty to anyone but himself. And he covers it all up in religious speak to gloss over his greed.

I would not go past 32. 16 or 32. Going beyond that seems like handing out participation awards.

He wanted to do his best by Baylor I will give him that. But he was also a part of the plunge to the bottom. That first year was unacceptable and no that team was not that bad

The religious talk has stopped... Not questioning his faith but a lot of that talk was pandering to "Baylor elites." Barely brings up his faith if at all at Nebraska...

WAT?! You do know that there were no recruits left, right? He had to cobble together a class of overlooked three star players at the last minute. Those players would normally have all red-shirted. It's little wonder why they were overpowered on a weekly basis. Come on, man.

CMR was completely transparent about his NFL intentions from day one. If you listened to his weekly calls with Smoaky you would have known that. I suppose you could fault him for having that ambition rather than die at Baylor, but I've never known any other coach to be so transparent about wanting to leave when the time was right. And I have no reason to think his discussions about his faith were insincere. His on the field language might not have put him in good standing on the panel of deacons, but from a distance I saw him always treat people with respect and honesty.
