the team greatly appreciates you turning your back on them and removing your support for them.

Will always root for Baylor Football to defeat their Fall foe on the gridiron. I am just one man. My opinion on the state of Baylor Football is insignificant and irrelevant. Baylor made this very clear to me in 2015 and beyond.

you gave up 4 tickets. Thats possibly 4 less baylor fans in the stands every game. 4 less loud bears helping create a home field advantage. But see ya down the road. You clearly were never a real fan. Fans dont turn their backs on their team for any reason, especially something so trivial as players legally get paid now

But your opinion also was clearly relevant enough for you to tell us about your choice to stop supporting the team voluntarily. And to be butt hurt over something a decade ago that has zero impact on this program currently. Im sorry the bear touched you

You are the perfect fan. No doubt. I admire your blind loyalty. As I told you, Baylor did not value me as a 22 season ticket holder either. It is done. In the past. It really does not matter at this point.

Evil flourishes when good men do nothing. My position is clear. And you? We shall see.

RD2,

I'm sure you are a good man. I also respect your decision regarding Baylor Football - but for the Love of God, why do you continue to post? Is it some form of self flagellation?

Agree with you, Jim. I still get angry when I think about what could have been. Baylor and Penn State are the two best examples of how not to and how to handle a scandal.

But it should be a good lesson of what can happen when you have weak leadership in place. I do have great respect for everyone that has maintained their loyalty through this mess. I tip my hat to all of you.

You still didn't answer the question of why you're still actively posting in a Baylor football program when you've declared your public removal of their support.

Baylor and I are estranged but would be happy if Baylor Football ran the table and won the national championship. I think the leadership of Baylor is content for Baylor win seven or eight games a year and go to a crappy bowl game every other year. That is fine too. If they are on TV, I will probably tune in and watch.

P.s. - My financial support was removed because Baylor leadership claimed our ex head coach supposedly displayed heinous and unspeakable conduct, yet found it in their hearts to pay him and his attorneys $17.5 million to go away. Something was just not right. That was it for me.

It just sounds to me like someone who has such little interest in something and is still very clearly holding onto bitterness from almost a decade and three coaching staffs ago would have much better things to do with their time than sour a pot that others are actually still very invested and interested in, but that's just me. I would certainly not consistently come here if I was not interested in supporting the team, but you do you.

The bitterness transformed into apathy many years ago. Like I said in a previous post, the loyalty of many fans here is admirable. Historian comes to mind. Still have a lot of old friends here and that is the main reason for me coming here on occasion. I will admit, my tolerance for sunshine pumping has always been low,- even back in the Captain Cupcake (Kevin Steele) days. I will heed your advice and post less on the Football Board.

Have a good evening.

Subtract their $1-M softball player and that leaves $17.8-M to be divided among all the other athletes.

I'm trying to imagine how all the other players will behave around Ojo if he doesn't pancake a defender on each and every block.

Outside of the school NIL collectives still exist.........the schools now just have $20 mil of in house money to use.

For the sake of colleges football, we need Texas Tech's experiment of attempting to buy success to be an abject failure. Conversely, we also need a low-budget team to be highly successful. Here's for hoping for both!

Teams like OU, tOSU, SC and other perennial winners of the 1950's-1990's bought and paid for teams undercover just as Tech is doing out in the open for all to see.

You have to wonder what happens when a highly paid NIL player like this one gets a multi million dollar agreement and gets injured early on in his first season. Will donors continue to take such high leverage on individuals?

There is a reason "low-budget team" will not be successful in this current era.

Felix Ojo is a highly-touted, five-star offensive tackle from Mansfield Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield, Texas, known for his massive frame (around 6'7", 280+ lbs) and dominance as a blocker, attracting major college football attention and committing to Texas Tech with a significant NIL deal. He's a top-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, recognized for his strength, length, and potential to be a future NFL draft pick.

A signing like that shows how messed up CFB is.

It's crazy to think that people are subsidizing a business with massive donations.

I love Baylor, but I'm not giving millions to our sports teams unless I'm getting a return on it.

This isn't amateur athletics anymore - its business and needs to be treated that way.

Actually, at this point I hope Tech wins the national championship. Not because I care a hoot about Tech, but because it would shine a national spotlight on what money is doing to the sport. It is one thing for Ohio State or UT to spend a wad of money. They have been winning already. But money turned Tech from a slightly above average team into a national championship in one year. People who haven't been paying attention will ask why and how did that happen.

95% (perhaps more) of the universities in this country do not have the kind of money to buy a national championship or even a conference championship and that is what is happening now....buying a team and a championship. Perhaps this will shed more light to the point where something is done to reign this crap in

Much rather have things shaken up like this than be sentenced to watch Bama/OSU/Georgia being the only ones with hope. More parity now than 5 years ago, way more. We've just failed to take advantage. The system has actually been made more open than before and we COULD HAVE benefited from it but alas….

I'm not sure we have a whale the size of Campbell - he's been very VERY blessed! - but we do have a donor base capable of making us competitive for conference championships and Playoff runs *if* we have good buy-in.

Obviously we're all hoping that Doug can get us to that level of buy-in. Despite what the pessimists are claiming, he's got the background and chops to do it.

If we can secure OL and DL hires that can bring a dude or three with them each in the next few weeks, I'll feel really good about this program renovation.

I would imagine we have 4-5 perhaps more who together can do what Campbell has done. If they are thrilled with the AD hire like a couple of his friends are posting. We will know that because money should be flowing in starting today and Aranda will have an NIL budget starting in the new year getting on par with what McGuire has. We will know if this is a great hire or a catastrophic move by summer I think.

Yeah. Agreed. BU payed Sawyer $1.7M this last season and he seemed to be a lot more distracted than the 2024 season. Did you ever get the feeling that some of our players performed as if they weren't happy with a disparity in payouts?

When I worked at the old McLane Advanced Technologies, it was a running joke that Drayton paid one baseball player more than we made in a year's revenue with about 80 people on staff.
