Line Auburn up against Baylor…I like cheering for the little guy. Good luck to you! Baylor pulls this off, it's a massive victory.

  • Strength of Schedule: Auburn went through a Top 5 schedule in 2024. Baylor's was outside the Top 35. Auburn saw twice as many Top 25 defenses and offenses.
  • Recruiting: Auburn has pulled in Top 10 classes two years straight. Baylor hasn't broken the Top 25. Auburn signs 4 and 5-stars, Baylor mostly gets 3-stars.
  • Fan Support: Jordan-Hare packs in 90,000+ every Saturday. Baylor struggles to fill 45,000
  • Athletic Budget: Auburn's athletic department runs with around $160-$170 million a year. Baylor's sits closer to $100 million. Auburn football alone brings in over $100 million a year.
  • Coaching and Players: Auburn has four players ranked top 10 nationally at their positions going into 2025. Baylor doesn't have any.

Baylor beating a team who hasn't had a winning season in 5 years is a massive win? What planet are you living on?

Good luck to you, one of us will be heart broken at the end of the week. Hopefully it's a good game either way so we both can at least be entertained and feel decent about our team going forward. I pray that neither team has an injury and both go back to their conferences and kick ass and win. Would be cool to get a rematch at the end of the year in the playoffs and see who grew the most.

This dude isn't an Auburn fan. No Auburn fan would use a screen name that starts with Bama. He's a turd from the other side of the state.

Good luck Friday should be a good one.

Auburn Fan/Alumni/Grad - I say it's great to be an Auburn Tiger,

Show my screen name to some of your friends…I'm sure one of them can figure it out.

No Bama fan would give Auburn the props that I've given

Is your screen name a reference to the infamous "Punt Bama, punt" game.

You keep making the same point in different ways. I think you're trying to convince yourself---I've been there---we can do the same thing with our returning production mantra.

There's no question if we rolled out these guys at 18 Auburn would dominate. Vegas has this thing a near toss-up, though, for a reason, and they aren't biased like those of us who post on this board. Enjoy!

Auburn has more talent across the board than Baylor. I'll concede that. No one really argues that Baylor's depth is comparable to Auburn's.

However, Auburn has a ton of guys playing their first game in these particular offensive and defensive systems, including their quarterback. They're playing an away game in less than ideal weather. Baylor brings back more returning production from what was a decent team. Those are all legitimate mitigating factors that help balance the scales.

Also, barring injuries, Baylor could very well finish this year with 3-5 players ranked in the Top 10 at their respective positions: QB, RB, MLB, TE, and possibly DE or OG if Marshall and Aigbedion play to the best of their abilities. I don't necessarily expect any of them to be the absolute best at their respective positions, but they'll be in the conversation.

If we were playing later in the season, after injuries and Auburn's players having time to gel, then I would say that Auburn had the clear advantage. As it stands, this looks to be a toss up according to almost every prognosticator and analytical model.

I'm not about to let a perennial middle-tier SEC team "little bro" us. Baylor played for decades in a conference with Texas and Oklahoma. Auburn doesn't outclass us in resources like they did, and we've held our own against both of them on plenty of occasions over the past 15 years. We may very well lose, but I'm not intimidated by Auburn.
