I suspect a search for a new AD will be confined to the campus, should we have an opening. I suspect we would promote someone and hence not have an experienced AD if we make a change.

James Comey style. Leak a known fake story to NYT and then use the fake story to a federal judge for a search warrant. The only problem here is the story is absolutely true. But considering that the player in question is actually a highly paid employee, if the employee was poorly representing the school, I don't see a problem whatsoever with what he said. I see more of a problem with the school leaking the story to the New York Times.

Story is legit. There was a second incident after the game. There is reportedly video.

"Immediately following the game, as the players were making their way around the field to thank fans, along with convening for the school song, Mack Rhoades was allegedly standing behind Trigg and other coaches. This is when the situation took another turn, with an assistant coach being involved.

Multiple witnseses tell OutKick that while Trigg went to be with his family, an assistant coach was visiting with his family, when AD Mack Rhoades allegedly came up from behind and grabbed the assistant's arm and, subsequently, his shoulder and neck area. According to sources, Rhoades then allegedly proceeded to verbally accost the assistant coach, which was witnessed by multiple Baylor staff members within the athletic department, along with family members."

Mack Rhodes has to be fired. Baylor needs an AD who doesn't show his ass in public. If the institution thinks it can circle the wagons on this, it's going to be pretty embarassed when the video leaks. Firing now is one way to make the story go away and keep the video from leaking.

How would his wearing a yellow shirt under his jersey be representing the school poorly? The player didn't pick the new school colors. But Mack signed off on it obviously since he was AD when we did this. I don't get how Trigg having yellow sleeves on his arm is such a damn big deal. That is what Mack et al decreed one of the school colors. RG3 regularly wore a white sleeve regardless of jersey color back in the day.

I miss Big Boy Football.

One of the main functions of the AD is the raise funds for both athletics and the university. After this incident, that ability for Rhoads and Baylor may be significantly hampered than before with BMDs. Baylor leadership must be transparent and sort out a
positive direction.

I can't disagree with that . I said if he was poorly representing the school, then I have no problem talking to an employee in that manner.. apparently it didn't discourage him because he went out and had an awesome game, just like a pro.

I don't know about the last couple of years, but it was not unusual at all for him to be on the sidelines for at least parts of the games.

I don't know. It just seems like something that visible during the game on the sidelines would have come out long ago if it looked as bad as it is being "reported" by whatever original sources. There had to be quite a few witnesses.

If it was a thing, it was quieted and tamped down pretty quickly. The account could possibly be exaggerated.

I don't like seeing something like this being used as confirmation bias for those who already wanted regime change with Baylor sports. That's different from his performance in his job. I'm keeping the two things separate until there is a lot more clarity and evidence. I'm waiting to see more of the story if there is really that much to it. The way it is written certainly doesn't sound good, but we all know things can be twisted and blown out of proportion by "newsmakers."

Like the pictures of him in unusual attire for an exec, it seems to be a matter of context or just questionable personal taste in dress. Belichick always looked odd on the sidelines before he won a truck load of Superbowls, so that stuff doesn't mean a great deal to me in judging competence.

I'm not defending, either. I'm just waiting to see more if there is more to see. I haven't had huge issues with Mack, so I'm not looking for reasons to give him the boot. If Baylor decides they need to move on for performance issues I'm OK with that, too. If this recent stuff is as bad as it is being presented, then it definitely could be serious.

I just don't know enough for sure, yet.

Lord! Baylor's football history is just an absolute trash dump, debacle, farce, pathetic. You just can't make this crap up. Always making negative headlines… Department, coaching staff, campus issues, dumpster pile on the field. Just grab popcorn, sit back and see the $*** flow.

I'd be willing to bet someone didn't like how Mack voted or how he was running the CFP committee.

The timing is dubious and the viral nature of story seems manufactured to me.

Did Mack act like a jerk….sounds like it. Is it front page newsworthy no. Agenda driven media activity here.

You can say that about almost every major program .

It seems unlikely that the CFP committee didn't know about this accusation weeks ago, and he's still a visible figure. So whatever it is or isn't, doesn't seem like there's enough. At least not yet.
