Spavital is an extremely inefficient offensive coordinator. I've seen so many bad calls from him this season I can't keep count. The most obvious problem with him is that he he attempts 30 yard pass plays on 4th and 1.
A good coordinator knows how to take just enough of a risk to get to the first down. Spavital, when you look under the hood and past some of the gaudy stats, is average at best. Probably a bit below.
