Most likely this guy will make Texas worse. Aranda's eye for talent is atrocious.
That's not my point though. Lindas excuse to keep Dave was his recruiting class. That class took a huge hit. And it'll take more hits before signing day

Don't disagree. The class was never staying.
Let this sink in: This team could not have underperformed any more, literally, if it hadn't have had a head coach at all. Just Coordinators running the show. But, Baylor paid somebody $4M to stand in front of microphones and field press questions.

Iowa Bear hit the nail on the head - Linda was touting this class in her "letter" to Baylor fans & it is feasible, even likely that this class will be poached by schools that have a more attractive program.

There is no good selling point, and I think Linda knows that. Obviously, it looks dumb to even mention the recruiting class now, but it was silly at the time as well.
This was clearly just a case of deciding to hire an AD before addressing Aranda's fate and punting the 2026 season as a result. As soon as the Mack situation arose, the idea of fast-tracking the AD hire and firing/replacing Aranda probably wasn't even seriously entertained by our administration.
I wouldn't have done it that way, but there were risks both directions.

Analogy: Agent pleasured himself at BU's expense and didn't have the courtesy to provide BU anything to clean off with.
