He was the idiot that created the person over player motto. He is the idiot that didn't want to pay players. Mack had to finally override him and tell him to get going with NIL. Dave is a complete failure.

if it was all Dave, and it took Mack until after the nadir of 2023 to get Dave on the right path...that is a massive failure of Mack's.

Not being able to secure (idk if it was even attempted tbh) a massive NIL push for '25 when it was commonly assumed to be the last year to spend wildly was in hindsight a huge mistake too. On the premium side back in the Spring, IIRC some of the SE365 staff explained it as a sort of 'keeping your powder dry' situation wherein we weren't going to overspend this year and potentially waste money chasing overpriced talent. womp womp.

There is no if, it was 100% Dave.

Dave had a boss, Mack. That boss had a boss, Linda. That boss's boss has bosses, the BoR.

It very literally isn't all Dave's fault. That Leadership group choose to keep employing him after '22 while letting him attempt the exact same NIL approach. Then after '23 completely cratered they still didn't hold him fully accountable for the NIL disaster, which according to you was 100% on him. So yeah, there's a lot of blame to go around.

we know Dave, nothing is your fault

lol trolling or just dumb?

just having some fun. There is plenty of blame to go around. You seem to go out of your way to excuse Dave of much blame.

oh boy - cuidado, hombre........

- uncle fred

kubota ken will dive up in his golf cart turned gated community "cop car*" and issue you a cie-tay-shunnnnnnn....

I applaud the guy for recognizing that he had personal problems that interfered in his ability to do the job, resigned and saved us millions. He had the same buy- out clause that Aranda does. That is a selfless act.

LOL. Or not recognizing it at all, having it come out in the most public way and worst time possible, resigning ahead of getting fired, and taking a (maybe) reduced payout on his way out instead of fired for cause with no payout. That is a selfish act.

My problem with Mac is the Aranda contract, but it's a bit Puritanical to think having an adult affair is grounds for termination with no payout or void a contract. But reminiscent of the naive, bible thumping, brain dead BOR who fired everyone for something the secular schools deal with sans suicide.

Then again, you said a few weeks ago that with all the vacancies someone else may want Coach Mouse. Geez, hope you're right on that one.

I am not talking about an affair. I have no idea if he had one and don't really care.

I am talking about him physically and verbally assaulting Michael Trigg on the sideline during a game and then doing the same to a coach after the game. And apparently this was not the first issue he's had.

Baylor AD Mack Rhoades takes leave of absence following new allegations

100% grounds for termination.

I actually don't remember saying someone may want Aranda, but maybe. I was hoping we might get a Chip Kelly situation where he gets out ahead of a firing with a more stable DC job, but that seem very unlikely at this point.,

If true that budget cuts are being applied to departments does that mean releasing faculty? I mean if you teach Chemistry are your cutting the number of samples or test tubes, etc or faculty?

I'm curious how Baylor could be in financial difficulties when enrollment continues to increase. I know this is not unique to Baylor as all universities are facing dollar cost problems.

I would imagine Baylor administrators are in a tight spot if athletics continues to suck money from the university which will only grow in deficit as long as Aranda is here.

Thank you Miami Hurricanes. 10-3. :)

Hiring Boise State's AD and 37 yr old winning HC could be the answer.

Colleges and Universities have a spending problem.

The government screwed up the higher education market - just like they screw up any free market they try to manipulate (see healthcare)

With their takeover of the student loan market they have been handing out money like candy(why would they do that? - to create a voting bloc that they can promise loan forgiveness in the future)

Once the schools figured out that the lenders don't care about price - then the price of a degree went through the roof. Then , as easily predictable, the spending went up as much or more as the revenue. Now that the revenues are coming down (slightly at this point) - rut roh Raggy- we have to cut! We spent like drunken sailors! I think the massive changes to the higher education market are just beginning…

This is new Baylor. No white smoke…….expect a rainbow mist but only after the full reading of a land acknowledgement and a lengthy groveling to atone for all past sins.

Who did we pick as the Huaco people's representative on our AD selection committee? Surely we won't continue our athletic facilities' colonization of their ancestral grounds without allowing them a voice in selecting our next athletic chieftain.

So iowa state had a new head coach literally the same day their current coach departed. And yet is Baylor going to have this AD search last for several months?

I'm guessing there is no emergency shortlist that anyone had in case Rhoades suddenly left

Maybe the "emergency shortlist" was to have the current folks run things on an interim basis while deliberately going through a hiring process.

Background checks are THOROUGH! Got to check back decades to see if there was any family that didn't carry a Bible at all times, possibly said a swear word, DNA didn't show a proclivity for… like Sing, didn't take completely to heart "we are not an institution of football". Livingston is completely on top of this mundane issue. Full bore!!
