USC will play "conference" games against Rutgers and.Maryland but not play Notre Dame. This new CFP sucks

I'm ok with that because ND just scheduled home and home with BYU. Time for BYU to put up or shut up.
Thank you Miami Hurricanes. 10-3. :)

I'm fine with that.

Everyone else should stop scheduling them as well so they are stuck with a cupcake schedule and don't get ranked high anymore and are forced to join a conference instead of getting special treatment.

Plus as Texas learns this year why play tough teams if you get penalized for having a loss on your record.

When you turn it into a fully professional sport, and you put no restrictions on free agency, then you simply have to expect this stuff. The NCAA appears to have decided that the only way to address this now is for Congress to step in. Their tactic is to apparently let the system tear college athletics apart in front of everyone's eyes in an attempt to force Congress's hand.

How is this any different than the NFL?

Well, primarily the NFL has a salary cap.

Though I'm guessing you were looking for positive differences.

If the NCAA does anything they get sued. If Congress ends up doing anything it will be challenged in the Supreme Court. The SC will be the only entity that is going to have the final say and right now the Supreme Court isn't getting involved in anything while the country is just going off the rails. College football and the NCAA is just a reflection of the do-nothing, stand and watch Congress.

This needs to get to the SC ASAP so this either last in perpetuity and we know it, or it gets some corral around it.
