There seems to be an undercurrent of thought that this is something that Baylor could never do. But if that's the case, it's because the people running it actively won't try to create that reality and intentionally dismantled what was building towards that sort of a future a decade ago.

Miami has made big time investments in its football program, recently and long term. That team is expensive, more than BU is willing to pay. The 15M NIL is just the beginning. There are a lot of Epstein's down in Miami, it is its own world there.
Miami sucked for the past 20 years. I'm still not sure if they have ever won the ACC Championship, and they've been there since 2004.
If Miami can do it.....so can we.
Baylor is always late to the game. This time period today reminds me of 30 years ago when our school was completely unprepared to compete in the BIGXII, and still acted like it was in the Southwest Conference.
Players now get paid. Its time to accept that reality and compete to win.
All of our major programs are inferior to what they were 5-10 years ago.
Meanwhile SMU, TCU, Tech and Houston seem fully capable of fielding very competitive teams in this NIL era that can defeat the big name opponents.
