WOW, Unbelievable, but OK, I'll play along. There have been thousands of US that have put on the Green and Gold through more than a century of football. Yes I did say US ! We were lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to play a game we all loved. Some of US have won championships, others were not so fortunate. We all have opinions and this forum gives everyone , both ex --players and alumni or just fans in general a place to freely discuss them with others . Not one of those expressing an opinion deserves to be treated in the manner that you do, simply for having a different opinion, You DEMEAN for no reason other than your own narcissistic pleasure and proudly admit it on this site. You find it entertaining. SICK ! I am embarrassed as a Baylor letterman and alumni, not for what you post, as crazy as I personally find some of to be, but because you personally take pleasure in insulting anyone you see as not having your expert experience. Now ,add the fact that you have been given a special honor, by Baylor lettermen and Baylor alumni as a Hall of Fame inductee. This honor is awarded, not necessarily because any player were the best that ever walked on a Baylor field. There are numerous Baylor players that had solid NFL careers who have not been HONORED , and many who have been. that never set foot in an NFL camp. I have 8 teammates who have been awarded this honor and not one of them would berate people on a website in the manner you do. Maybe you can understand this, I respect the career you had, but don;t respect you for how treat other people
The last time I looked this was a sports bulletin board that allowed just about anybody the ability to assume a screen name and say just about anything they wanted to say. Most people know that this is for entertainment and fun.
Opinions here mean very little in case you have not figured that out by now. Everybody has one. A sense of humor is needed to have fun here given the wide variety of posters and their football acumen.
Just like society there are people with thin skin who take themselves way too serious. I've always approached the previous BaylorFans and 365 as a place like the Table of Knowledge at George's where you can discuss many subjects, be as outrageous as you desire and when they turn out the lights forgive, forget and go home. My friends at Baylor were of a very wide variety and we enjoyed ripping each other in public but we all knew it was in jest. You might consider that type of humor to be unbecoming and I probably would be bored with your "too serious for me" demeanor and not made fun of you. Frankly I've always enjoyed the give and take and have always had a tendency to ruffle some feathers to see if you can take it or not. I especially enjoyed ramping it up a bit when an "expert" sat at the table.
It does cause me to stop for a second and go back and reread my posts to see if I berated someone or simply made a little fun of them when they themselves make outlandish claims they could not or did not support with facts.
Like you I have right at 20 teammates that are HOF inductees and if you visited with them for a while you would find out that my personality that they saw and knew would be one of having fun, talking some trash, jousting verbally and kidding around to keep things light, fun and upbeat. Sure, not all of them liked me and I did not hang out with all of them but they also knew the REAL person that was their dependable teammate. If you told them how often I've defended the talent level of the teams I was on ('77-'80) they would not be surprised that I get a little protective and am very proud of what we accomplished way back 45+ years ago. Done before Baylor really opened up their wallet.
I've always enjoyed good back & forth. The FACT that I was fortunate to have played on one of Baylor's greatest teams ever probably gave me a little bit more impetuous to post like an arrogant tough guy when challenged or dismissed.
So.....I will close with a serious (as serious as I can get) apology to ALL who got their feelings hurt, are disgusted that a man of my nature speaks on a bulletin board like a narcissistic Donald Trump. My advice to most of you is to #1 Don't read my posts, #2 Engage and fire back on me but do so with some humor attached so as to entertain others & #3 Put yourself in my shoes which I know is hard to do when you have such a low opinion of me.
I've been posting like this as far back as the old Southwest Conference Board started this entire bulletin board craze in the 90's. I was much tougher on Horns, Ags and other foes than my own kind (Bears). Many perusers of this board understand my goal of laughing at serious matters instead of crying about them. Many do not.
Don't be embarrassed. Don't get sick. I'll be gone in a few more years (or less) and you can enjoy a sterile, clorox washed environment scrubbed clean for even the most devoted of the Baylor Bubble.
