Well, the time for talk is over.

It's all about now.

Only thing to do at this point is to lace 'em up and put it on paper (like DougO has been saying).

And here's what I'll put on paper before today's season opener:

Look for the Bears to finish the regular season at least 8-4 (9-3 if we take out the Tigers this afternoon).

And that'll have us firmly in the race for the Big XII title.

After today's game, I'm even more confident about going at least 8-4, assuming Lagway is healthy come conference.

Also, the defense looks waaay better and will keep us in a lot of games.

4 toughest games will be the following:

@ASU
TCU
@BYU
Texas Tech

I think we find a way to at least split those 4.

But even if we just win one of those matchups, that still puts us at 8-4.

Rest of the schedule should be manageable:

PV
LA Tech
Colorado
@KU
@UCF
ISU
@Houston

All are winnable games.

Absolute floor is 6-6.

Houston didn't exactly tear it up against Oregon State today.

They were only up by 6 until they scored a late 4th qtr TD.

Oregon State QB threw for nearly 400 yards, so we can definitely exploit their secondary.

I like our chances against both TCU and Houston.

Trap game is UCF.

Our chances are still below 50%. Don't get your hopes up because of game 1.

CDA teams play down to the opponent's level. Other teams led by better coaches improve during the season.
