I do understand that optimism is a good thing. But for most people, optimism is not blind. It is dictated by past results. At times, optimism can come as a result of being excited about the future-but that is when you're working with a first or second year coach with a clean slate.

I just stopped having expectations, positive or negative. The seasons of Big 12 current layout have been predictably unpredictable.

It is embarrassing our fans have succumb to that, but that is what a Davey led team does

I don't think any Big 12 team knows what the season holds for them. The NIL and Portal make for too many lineup changes. For instance, can our O-line be cohesive and learn the blocking schemes?

Yeah 9 wins this season but back to 5 next season and we are back in the vicious cycle that has lead to us being here

Positives:

1: CDA was such a horrible DC last year that our Defense will definitely improve this year.
2. Keeping CDA one more year yields more money to hire a better HC this October.
3. The huge volume of head coaching transitions last year increases our probability of getting a better hire this Fall.
4. Our cheerleaders are still not wasting any precious funds on the purchase of adult-size sports bras.

I've been drinking too much bourbon lately maybe that's why

I am excited to see our new QB, rebuilt Offensive and Defensive lines and the new DC / staff.

We all know that any positives this year is not a result of Dave coaching one bit. IMO, we get that 9 wins with a solid defense - put JOE in the HC spot.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this year's team looks.

We'll go from there.
