I wouldn't name anything military after that draft dodging pansy-@$$. Dorie Miller was a true hero. If Donald Trump would have been on board Miller's ship and in his place he would have been down in the deepest recesses of the ship crying his pansy eyes out sucking on his thumb. No doubt he would have immediately hopped on board a Jap ship and joined the Japs for the remainder of the war. Remember, he was a Democrat for at least 8 years and likely more.

A carrier is the more important and prestigious ship…and no sitting president has ever named a ship after himself. The least he could do is just name the unnamed destroyer after himself.

Ships (really most things) should not be named after living people.

A president should not be able to force his name on a ship.

Naming of ships, like military bases, camps, etc. should be in honor of previous presidents, service members, founding fathers, battles, states, cities, or a traditional name that has been used for years (like enterprise, hornet, president, etc).

You can't? Any other President name ships and everything he can after himself? No. They haven't whether they had approval ratings in the mid to upper 60s or in the high 20s like Trump.

I have a real problem with this. It's more than sensational it's selfish. It's removing recognition from a sailor who gave his all in service to the country for a guy who refused to answer the bell when called.

It was the first time we recognized an enlisted person with this honor. And they're deciding that regular joes don't deserve honors like this.

We don't put living people on ships or currency.

I'm kinda with OP on this one, if it's real, regardless of any politics or Baylor ties. He was a legit hero.

Build a new one if you want it named differently. It's not like it had been called the USS Taylor Swift.

What other President has done as much to stop waste and fraud and theft of America's tax dollars?

What other President has brought back industry to America more?
What other President has done more to protect Christians in America from persecution and bias?

Interesting observation about the ability to obsess over one's dislike of an individual … whether it be a football coach or a president.

I have to admit Trump's narcissism and Jedi-like ability to troll people can strike a nerve and won't be missed, but rather than obsess over it, it's better to recognize that his policies have been better for America than the alternative.

This is the ultimate bottom line for me. I don't care how you feel personally about Trump and/or his style - his policies beat the crap out of the alternative 24/7/365. If you need to be reminded, just think for a minute about what things were like under auto pen / oatmeal for brains from '21-'24.
