24-10. These are the sort of games that Dave lets end up way closer then they should be.

31-10, Bears. A late score pushes Baylor over 30.

27-10 Baylor. With the very hot weather forecast, Baylor's better depth shows in the 2nd half breaking open a close game.

This shapes up to be lower scoring. LA Tech's strength is run defense and our run offense is our weakness, but LA Tech shouldn't be able to move much on us. That shapes up as a game where our incentive is to be conservative on offense and wear them down over time. Dave said "we are ae 12-15 play outfit" right now, and that's true, and also means you do some punting and field position. I think it's a game more like the Texas St. 2021 game where we were always in control but the score was pretty close --- 29-20. 29 is a weird score so I would predict 27-17 or something closer to that. This is one where winning and staying healthy is all that really matters.

I think this is going to be a very telling week in football. If Auburn loses to Florida and Louisiana Tech keeps it close with us, I think we have reason to doubt the reality of the improvements in the team that are being claimed, jmho

I agree ... and that the opposite will be true.

If Auburn beats Florida in a close game, and Baylor not only wins but covers ... I think we could end up winning 7-8 games.

For the record, I think Florida wins by 14. I think Baylor beats La. Tech, 28-20.

I think our ceiling is 6 games, more likely 5.

I hope I'm wrong. Would definitely prefer to win 7 or 8 games.

They really aren't, especially considering that they are factored into the college playoff decision process. If I beat a good team that randomly lost to a crap team and then the crap team beats me, that makes my victory look worse, and that's just one example.


I'm willing to say that if we struggle against Louisiana Tech, we are in for another long season.

Ya, there's no way with La tech and their back up qb that they lay 30 on us. I doubt they score more than 14.

1. Keep DJ healthy. Let him stand there and slowly make handoffs like Spav liked against Auburn, then pass on 3rd and long.
2. Win the game 45-10

This one may be a lot closer than we would like - I have no idea the score - could go either way
