The people who interviewed him and hired him are not really football people. they are more like corporate HR types that want to avoid liability, and the national championship coordinator thing was a big selling point on paper

I thought they paid a search firm but if so not nearly enough. The stupidity in his extension was, stupid.

They did, and I'm sure the search firm does the groundwork on gauging interest and getting that candidate to the interview, but ultimately our decision-makers listened to Dave talk for a couple hours and decided that he was the guy…… I really really wish I knew who the other candidates were

Baylor has a failed BoR when it comes to football.1. Too many Regents. 2. Very few have the business qualifications to run Baylor. 3. Widows, friends of friends, preachers, male and female lawyers who don't understand or don't want a highly competitive football team. 4. Total lack of Black business men and successful former players who understand what to do. 5. An elitist culture. 6. A more unqualified HC, in every way regarding a football program, has never been hired.
He just is who he is. Baylor is to blame. Baylor is ok with a .500 record.
Linda Loser does not want an alpha AD or HC. Every statement she's made about football has been Wrong.
