Ok…can we please go back to one side of the stadium yelling "Baylor" and the other side yelling "Bears"?
The little mini drum they are running out there is weak, and the "BU" chant somehow manages to get mangled every game.

And don't get me started on the crowd singalong to "Amazing Grace" between the 1st and 2nd Quarter. It's a football game, not Vacation Bible School.

Gonna have to cut the pregame prayer voiced over the PA system also.

Hopefully Marigold hasn't made an appearance at McLane this year.

I miss the human hamster ball races!
Call it a tax, the people are outraged! Call it a tariff, the people get out their checkbooks and wave their American flags!!!

Nothing wrong with a pregame prayer.

You said no Amazing Grace, & its not VBS. A prayer fits right in with those 'church' things.

Not really in my opinion. A pregame prayer for player safety, good sportsmanship, and safe travels for the teams and fans is rather appropriate. The church singalong during the game seems a bit much when trying to create a home field advantage and get the fans fired up.

We don't have to agree.

Might as well aerosolize Ketamine and spray it on the crowd.

But if they're going to sing Amazing Grace, they might as well adapt the lyrics for Arandaball.

Amazing games, how rough they've been,
For Baylor's green and gold;
They lost the lead, then lost again,
A story oft retold.

'Twas grace that taught Dave Aranda's crew
To go on fourth-and-one;
And grace that let the clock run through
While trailing late for fun.

Through many weeks, mistakes, and woes,
They somehow found a way;
They'd march right down, then stall and freeze,
With victory delayed.

The offense starts, the defense bends,
The faithful start to groan;
By halftime all the fans have made
Their couches feel like home.

They fired the man who built them,
Then watched their banner fade;
The Bears let go their winning ways
A dynasty unmade.

When they've been there ten thousand years
Or at least ten thousand plays
They'll still be searching for a lead
Through long and winding days.

Amazing grace, the fans remain,
Though hope is running thin;
For every loss, they'll say, "Next year"
And bravely tune back in.

Get the crowd, such as it is, to sing this till Aranda is gone.

I appreciate the creativity behind the lyrics; well done and good work in that sense.

Nevertheless, my opinion is that critics of CDA on this board go too far in their negativity. Valid criticsm deserves respect. But many here descend into actual vitriol. That is unnecessary, although they certainly have a right to do it. And I have the right not to like it.

He came to Waco with a championship name,
LSU on the rsum, defensive mastermind fame,
Then 2021 hittwelve wins, Big 12 throne,
Sugar Bowl victory, Baylor finally had its own.
Fans said, "We found him! This is the guy!"
Then the seasons started slipping and the questions multiplied.
Six-and-seven here, three-and-nine there,
Baylor went from "We're back!" to "Is anybody there?"
One championship season became the golden exception
A highlight reel surrounded by a lot of second-guessing.

Now every Saturday starts with cautious optimism,
Then three quarters later it's full-on pessimism.
Fourth-and-short, clock management, questionable calls,
Baylor fans watching victory slowly crawl through the walls.
"We need better execution"we've heard that before,
At this point even the postgame answers need a scoreboard.
The defense gets tested, the offense gets stuck,
And somehow the Bears keep finding creative ways to run out of luck.
Recruiting, transfers, talentthere's plenty on the shelf,
But watching Baylor sometimes feels like watching a team coach itself.

So here's Dave Aranda's Baylor legacy, written in green:
One incredible mountain surrounded by valleys unseen.
A championship pedigree that raised expectations sky-high,
Then enough mediocre Saturdays to make the faithful ask why.
From "defensive genius" to "what's the game plan?"
From Sugar Bowl glory to "maybe next year, man."
The Bears keep showing up, the fans keep holding on
But if 2021 was the movie, the sequel's been way too long.
So Waco raises its glass as the scoreboard turns red:
We remember when Baylor was feared
now we're just wondering what happened instead.

Might I propose we sing this between the 3rd and 4th quarter. It'd fire the team up!

We can arraign it that the opponent is the last person who took the cookie. "Buffalo took the cookie" or if we play Aggie have it be sheep.
