You should reread the game thread. Lots of compliments to the football team last night for a win I did not have. It was a great night for Baylor football.
That said, one night does not undo this.

Hi - Huge huge Dave Aranda hater checking in. Happy the bears won but as I said before this idiot coach gets the praise and credit when we win and the other coaches get the blame when we lose. Dave's never been under the hot seat and never will be. So far we have only beaten teams with losing records or middle of the road teams and this historically tracks with Dave. Happy for the bears and the team and I hope we win out.

The person who started this thread is a complete fruitcake and ironically one of the biggest haters on this site. Most of the so-called haters can and will give credit where it's due when Dave and the team have a big win. The difference is, the haters also give criticism when it's deserved, and that makes certain (dumb) people upset. And while those people won't criticize the highly paid coach, they will sling mud at random strangers on the Internet

Now THIS is the Dave Aranda we all thought Mack had hired. All criticism of him has been justly deserved, but If This is what he has finally evolved into, count me in.
He Looked normal, like a winning HC with energy, intensity, excitement, communication, organizing, and encouraging.

I was expecting a battle and a close loss in this one, also hoping to be wrong - which boy was I. I'll have mustard on my crow, please. Hopefullly this game wasn't a fluke.

- a Dot on a piece of paper doesn't constitute a straight line
- 1 miracle season with other people's recruits doesn't mean success with your own recruits (see the past 6 season)

It was a dominant win against a big 12 team that will probably finish 5 - 7 or 6 - 6. Credit where it's due, but I want to see Dave beat Texas Tech, BYU, UH etc before I scream in ecstasy, and I think that's a perfectly reasonable stance. I know that makes me a "hater", but oh well
Nothing bad about last night. Still lots of land to plow. I don't see last night as a reason to gloat nor a reason to panic.
Personally? Aranda should win all games to BYU. Then he needs to win at least two of those last three. Win all would be nice. That would mean our running game has solidified. No major injuries. And we beat the snot out of this a holes from Ft. Worth.

Honest criticism is always expected and perfectly fine for football fans. It's a big part of the game and shows we remain interested and invested.
But both the Doomers and sunshine pumpers are on equal footing as being totally useless.

All good Mrs. Aranda. No one likes to hear negativity about their husband. I am sure he is a wonderful husband and father to you and your children but he absolutely sucks as a coach. Please pass my warmest regards.

This thread is what I meant last week that the owners are either trying to kill this forum or just let it die. Baylor alum need a place where there is level headed reasonable discussion negative and positive can take place. It seems most serious folks have been giving up and leaving and allowing this kind of personal attacks on everyone to flourish even after a big win.

Fair. ASU turned out to be worse than previously thought. I want to see what Baylor can do against higher tier competition.

I will tell you that from my time posting on the premium board, I recall the owners of the site stating that they do not care at all about the free board and even went as far as to say that they wish they could shut it down. As I recall, there was some sort of contractual obligation to allowing the free board to continue when the owners of the site bought Baylorfans. I know that they have had some legal issues with the former Baylor fans owner
To your point, there needs to be some sort of max post limit for new posters for their first few weeks of posting. Most message boards have traditionally had something like that. The person who started this thread joined three weeks ago and almost exclusively takes personal shots at people. On the other hand, those who criticize Dave are at least criticizing a professional in the top .001% of salaries in the US, and they are at least keeping it relevant to football (with some exceptions). Calling out someone else over a score prediction is lame, especially when you didn't guess the correct score either.

I made the conscious choice to let the Auburn game set my expectations for this team. If we looked competent and well prepared, I'd clear the slate and give this team a chance to win me over with its play.
This has been a fun season from the start for me as a result. I'm glad I didn't waste any more time than necessary being bitter and jaded. There will be plenty of time to get back there if the season goes south. But it was a choice to try to enjoy this season, and I have as a result.
This team has played well. Hopefully it will continue to do so. Fall is way more fun with a competitive football team.

Everyone saw a totally opposite team from Colorado. Dave was all in, expressive, energetic, excited, encouraging and communicating with everyone, and in shape. O was terrific, not perfect, but active and fast. The run game was powerful. DJ missed some guys, but FOUR TD's No INT's, plus ran for 1TD, 60% completion, AS underdogs ON the Road. Sic'em!

I have to give your husband credit, Mrs. Aranda. He swallowed his pride and hired a real defensive coordinator. Baylor was ranked 122nd in defense with Dave as coordinator and so far, just a year later, with Klanderman in charge Baylor is 16th nationally in defense. I give credit where credit is due.
