BUT . . .

ESPN just issued its CFP and bowl projections. They predict Baylor will play in the Liberty Bowl Jan. 2nd against either Missouri or Oklahoma.

My bowl preferences:
CFP (there's a wide prediction range here of 3.7-13%)
Pop Tarts (need to finish in third place in the Big 12 if I am reading the qualifiers correctly)
Alamo (this actually goes to the second place Big 12 team; I've been, I'd go again, but Pop Tarts sound more fun)
Texas Bowl (been here too; it's close to home)
Liberty Bowl (walkin in Memphis...)
Cactus (mid tier Big 12 finish)
Independence Bowl (most likely means we went 6-6)

The Pop Tarts Bowl would definitely be my choice among non-CFP bowl games. That's a fun game every year.

Alamo is traditionally one of the best games of the bowl season.

Only, bowl season isn't what it used to be, with all the opt-outs. Teams are often a shell of what they were during the season.

NIL should include some kind of requirement, or at least a bonus, for actually playing in bowl games, as long as we have to have it at all.

Latest projections - about half of the dozen or so I saw have the Bears bowling the other half don't.
Those that do include:
Baylor v. Wisconsin in the Cactus Bowl
Baylor v. Boise St in the Independence Bowl
Baylor v. Mizzou in the Liberty Bowl
Baylor v. Mississippi St in the Liberty Bowl
Baylor v. Mizzou in the Texas Bowl
Baylor v. Aggy in the Texas Bowl

The ghost of head coaches past vs the ghost of head coaches present.

Might be worth going for that reason alone.

Don't think anyone really does, but the 'better' the bowl game the 'better' season they had. Texas Bowl likely means 8 wins minimum while Cactus Bowl means 6-6 mediocrity.
