We have used search firms post Steele. That said search firms aren't magic, you need to now have $$ for staffs to have the interest of who they identify and now a GM is who is good at identifying players with an attractive budget to pay the players as well.

BMDs have to be on board. Any coach candidate will want to know how much of a NIL budget we have before he accepts the job. Without NIL you will never win at the level we want to. BMDs will basically run the Athletic Dept if you want to WIN. AKA tech, etc.
