How many more mediocre seasons does TexasIsBack need to work their way off the list? (I know...I'm sure they are lifers)

I haven't done the math...but I wouldn't be surprised if UT has the least amount of Top 25 finishes in the last decade in this grouping.

I would think Georgia Tech and UCLA Blue Bloods before Washington and Clemson.

In football? Not even close. UCLA in basketball, definitely.

Nebraska and Michigan have been at least as bad this decade and for longer. That's a pretty accurate list. Some might question whether Nebraska still belongs. Some might say Penn State does but that about the extent of it.

Blue Bloods = perception, so after 65K votes, Nebraska, while mediocre over the past decade, is still perceived as blue blood while a successful program like Auburn doesn't make the list.

Good news for us: beating UT or OU in anything is perceived as being a giant killer.

got that straight, amigo! Our purple clad friends 95mi north of Waco blame Baylor for everything yet their own incompetence was the reason keeping them wandering in the desert until the tigger & aggy divorce led froggy to the promised land.

I wonder about the 9% that did not vote Alabama as a Blue Blood?

And LSU fans still mad at Saban for leaving them.
Speaking of coaching weasels, whatever happened to Tommy Tuberville?

The delusion in Knoxville is strong. And substantial in Lincoln and South Bend as well ...

Part of the "blue blood" image, however, is rooted solely in how much $$$$$ a name-brand school has that has played football forever. For some fan bases, even if you haven't won big in awhile, the fact you used to "back in the day" + $$$$$ leads them to believe they can still buy blue blood status.

That's certainly how they view it in Austin, at any rate ...

And while we used to regularly beat the Whorns on the gridiron, we've lost to them for three straight years, which really chaps me.
Under Teaff and Briles we were able to whip their b*tts.
But now that seems to be a long, long time ago.
Having entered BU in 1970, during the height of the DKR and Wishbone days, I always relish seeing our football team beat UT.
Smells like........victory.
