Good list. As far as production goes, Darryl Gardener shouldn't be on it though. For comparison, Robin Jones was better around the same time frame. Billings definitely had a better career at Baylor than Gardener.

Stupid question but I have to ask- due to Matt Bryant's longevity and production in NFL all these years, does he get a sniff at Canton? Do FG kickers even get a chance a nod? Even the great ones like Bryant/Janikowski(pretty sure Venatiera made it/will)

My favorite running back at Baylor ever ever was Lache Seastrunk. That run ( I think KSU) where he outran about 6 players is still one my favorite BU in our Golden era.

Pat Coryatt wanted to kill me after a hoops game. I honestly could not walk across campus without looking for him. Scariest dude alive. Seriously, I was faster than Bruce Davis, Carl Lewis, and Micheal johnson combined after i nutted him. I had the opportunity to keep my mouth shut..for whatever reason I didnt. Thank goodness for a certain O Lineman that gave me a head start to get away from PC in 1982 or 83.

Mark Addickes will always my kids hero, without him I am just a burial plot.

That's right. It was Quentin that came to mind. Thanks for the correction. Other than the Francis' we sure do struggle to get multiple family members to play for us ( Hager, Coryatt, etc)

TE - Ronnie Bo Lee

Football has changed so much over the years that it's admittedly hard to compare players from bygone eras (even if the cutoff is post leather helmet days), but I would think Del Shofner (from the 50's) should at least be a second team WR on the all time best BU team. Another "nominee" I have for at least second team linebacker is Darrell Luce (from the 70's and one of the defensive leaders on the "Miracle on the Brazos" team).

Big Erv Randle needs some love.

Jarrod Douglas as return specialist.

CB, S, LB has some seriously good talent on the second and third teams

I still say Seth Russell is a more effective college QB. In 2015 teams just could not find a way to contain him before his injury. His strength, speed, elusiveness and quickness in the running game are hard to find. His arm was strong, his velocity great, just had accuracy and decision making issues from time to time.

I think, had he remained healthy, it would have been a Cam Newton or Tim Tebow type situation. Good enough arm, great running game, and college defenses just not equipped to stop someone like that. WVU figured out how to stop our running game in 2014, and would have done the same thing in 2015 had Russell not been the QB. Go and re-watch that game. Our RB's were stuffed and ineffective. 3rd down situations and all the WR's were covered. The play would break down, and Seth would get a 1st down with his legs. Happened over and over and over again.

What might've been.

IMO if Seth Russell doesn't go down in that ISU game, we're probably an undefeated CFP team that season. Don't know how we would've done in the playoff, but there's a strong chance we would've at least been in it.

If the list isn't primarily comprised of players from 2013 and 2014, it ain't legit. Sorry, but Baylor pretty much has limited to zero national impact beyond those two teams. Maybe you could select one or two from the era when helmets or facemasks weren't worn, but the only national relevance in modern day came from the 2013 and 2014 teams.

That has nothing to do with determining the skill of individual players. By your criteria RG3 should not be selected and Mike Singletary should not be selected. That's just stupid.

Bsylor has many all time greats in the pros...Bill Glass is an NFL Hall of Famer at DE, keith Bishop a pro bowler at center .
At one time I believe Teaff led the nstion in players in NFL. He did not have great depth, but his first lineup when healthy some years could play with anyone.Thomad Everett, Van McElroy, Singletary, Charles Benson, Ronnie Lee, Gary Don Johnson, Stan Williams, Harold Riley, the All Pros and all Americans stack up. I have known many of these who are or were great men. Some were physical specimens late in life.
And I have missed many...Cotton Davidson was a great pro qb.

Child please. One or two. That's a joke
Besides maybe Oakman there's not a player from 13-14 that could have started on Defense for the 85-86 team
Those squads were ranked top 10 in defense nationally
Maybe you've never heard of the first ever Jim Thorpe award winner Thomas Everett
Go and do your research on how many guys we put in the league

Van McElroy probably broke as many helmets or more than Singletary. If you remember the "hit" on a pass that was thrown to the TE at Arkansas in the 80's. The ball was thrown to the Arkansas TE, McElroy nailed him and it intercepted by Vic Vines and the TE was seen picking his 4 front teeth off that hard artificial turf at the old Baylor Stadium. He hit him so had it knocked out the TE's front teeth. Preachers kid, tough as nails. All state QB and safety and won the state in 5he 300 meter hurdles, and could dunk a basket ball like no other.

Thank you for reminding all of us of your credibility or lack of same

The team that won the 1957 Sugar Bowl defeated the Tennessee Volunteers who were ranked number two in the nation. Did any Briles team reach that level? Briles had great teams and was a very good coach but for you to ignore history is ludicrous.

Don Trull was fourth in the Heisman vote and came within one play of beating the undefeated Texas Longhorns in their national championship year. Lawrence Elkins was named the outstanding receiver in country that year.

Teaff put together some great teams full of some great players in his 21 seasons at Baylor including a 10-11 record against Texas which no coach in the conference matched. Not even Briles.

And in my humble opinion, Roger Goree is the best player I ever saw at Baylor. I witnessed him break seven helmets against All-America running back Steve Worster of Texas one December. Worster had to be carried from the field.

Baylor football did not begin with the 2013-2014 seasons. More realistically, Baylor football most likely ended with them.

Let's just say defensive players from Teaff era and offensive players from Briles era. Everybody happy?
