I guarantee you I have dropped f bombs every time we have let an opponent convert a 3rd and 17 or more into a TD. Hell I have dropped them for more things than that.

Looks like every UT fan I know, regardless of age.

If the kid were a UT student that would be hilarious.

But the kid looks to be about 12. Ridiculing a little kid is a bit much for me.

That's on the network and the director in the control room who told the cameraman to single him out and cut to that shot.

Multiple F bombs among other things.

True, but making him a meme and spreading it everywhere is a $&@# move.

Internet is a mean place. I agree that children should be off limits.

The child is also old enough to probably have a little better perspective about the importance of losing a game though, hope it's a teachable parental moment.

Sucks that it is now enshrined on the web though.

I've seen that Northwestern kid crying at a basketball game a ton and it was on network television. The tournament coverage kept showing him in promos. I guess trying to show invested fans. I do laugh at little kids crying about sports.

I prefer trashy pissed off college girls making their parents proud by dropping f bombs or giving the middle finger forever immortalized on message boards.

Let's make this thread a little more fun by everyone pitching in pissed or sad fan gifs!

The Northwestern kid is the son of the head coach. When Pizza Hut asked permission to use his meme in their commercials, the kid used all his would-be income from the commercial to help a charity.

Interesting. I didn't know that.

I never wailed like that at that age when the beloved Hogs of my youth were getting wafflestomped by Texas most years. My papa wouldn't have it. My mama wouldn't have it. In fact, I'd wager that almost none of us did around that age when our beloved teams of youth cracked open a king-sized can o' disappoint ...

Last time I cried at a sporting event was 8 years old. My papa pulled me aside and quietly -- but firmly -- explained this was unacceptable and viewed by others as "being a pansy." It didn't happen again. Not in public anyway.

I remember a couple of years later watching an NFL game during the holidays and watching my Colts get stuffed in the playoffs by the Steelers and wanting to run off and do something else when the score hit 28-10. Papa said "nope, stay here and watch the rest of it. If you're gonna call yourself a fan of a team, you gotta stick with them through thick and then." Little did I know at the time it was breaking training for a time in history many years down the road known as The Stolen Years ...

Is ridiculing a kid like that a bit much. Yah, probably.

But blame perhaps ought to go more toward parents who promote/allow that kind of behavior in public.

Meh, leave the kid alone. And crying or showing emotion in public is a non-issue in 2019. I am however enjoying the upset UT fan gifs, but nothing beats the ticked off TCU sorority girls and frat boys after the 2011 Baylor-TCU game:

Now this thread is getting fun. Crying because a sports team you root for is losing is pathetic.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
The funny part about him crying is it was at a point in the game where Texas had some momentum and the crowd was going wild!

And those worried about cyber bullying...the kid probably loves the fact he's the meme-of-the-week if he's like most 12 yr olds I know.

Agreed.

Matthew dropping it needs to be preserved forever, though.

Also, somebody get that guy a real cowboy hat.
