I remember exactly where I was; in a laundromat on Hewitt Drive listening to this game while washing clothes.

Our own Robby & Agent Grant played big parts on the defense in this game - particularly the goal line stand at the end.

Back in the days before most games were televised. Maybe it was regionally broadcast on the West Coast I don't know. As I recall this game ended quite late central time. But can't say I recall the time in Waco the game ended. I just remember a lot of Baylor kids listening on the radio. I was a sophomore and lived in an apt across 8th street from campus. As soon as we won, you could hear large scale commotion of cheers from campus. I took off somewhere within a few minutes of the end and could see students throwing toilet paper rolls etc as streamers from dorm rooms. Quite a night.

Wyoming, Georgia and USC were the non conference games that year. The veer offense and the usual good defense. Aw the good old days.

I made the trip with another BU former football player ( we coached together in the Dallas area). Fabulous trip, great game, a completely shocked USC fan base and a lot of super loud and very hyper BU supporters. One of my all-time great football memories.

2 roommates and I made the trip to LA. I also taped it, but the game ran long and the recording ends right in the middle of the best goal line stand ever.

This USC win and the win against A&M that same year were two of the most exciting wins I ever enjoyed as a Baylor fan. Unfortunately if I am asked to name the two most disappointing losses I would have to say they were the games against those very same teams the next year in 1986. Ever see a grown man cry? Witness me in the stands at Baylor Stadium after the 1986 USC game. Ever seen a grown man destroy a television? Witness me in my living room after the 1986 A&M game.

Definitely one of my fav college memories. I was one those folks who "watched" the game on the radio. Man, that Frank Fallon could sure paint a picture with words. We concocted what we called a "grown-up cocktail party" where we all wore what used to be known as office attire. Anyway, we all spent the entire 4th quarter huddled around the stereo. When the game was over, the party was on. What a night.

I was at the Houston-Washington football game at The Astrodome, while Baylor was playing USC in L.A. When the 'exploding scoreboard' showed BAYLOR 20, USC 13-FINAL, the crowd had WOW! comments, and plenty of facial expression surprised looks. I was grinning from ear to ear.

My tv remained intact because I was in the stands at Kyle Field in 1986, but when I got back to Dallas at 1am I pummeled the h**l out of a Cole Haan shoebox in the closet. Kept that pair of loafers for another dozen years as a reminder.
